The People’s Republic of China has invested a great amount of effort and treasure to ensure that their children take advantage of today’s opens doors to the world. Because parental involvement is so highly valued in China, mothers and fathers insist that their children and their schools afford their students the best academic chances available today, in the global world system (Song, 2010). Accordingly, there has been a steady introduction of international educational programs working within local Chinese high schools throughout the nation. Such ventures prepare Chinese students to pass the various exams that will grant them acceptance into an America university and legally acceptable to study in the United States. Because qualitative research is focused on a relatively small sample, there are also other positive outcomes. For example, qualitative research is beneficial because it is lower in cost; it is a smaller operation, and it does not require that a lot of time-consuming surveys.
One disadvantage quantitative research is that it requires a lot more planning for gathering information from the research participants than qualitative research does. This naturally increases the cost of an investigation. Therefore, a researcher might conclude that quantitative research is not needed unless larger scale research needs to be done to prove a cause and effect situation.
