Henry v111 was the father of Elizabeth 1, Mary 1 and Edward 1v, they ruled before Elizabeth did. Henry v111 had desired a son and shunned Elizabeth and Mary, he claimed them to be illegitimate. After Henry v111 died Edward v1 came into power at the age of ten years old. Edward did not have a long succession and died after his six year reign. King Edward did not have a heir to the throne and had an agreement that Jane Grey would be the next heir to the throne, however, she only reigned for nine days till Mary 1 became queen for five years.
