A quote that stands out to me from the film “Dirty Wars” is “Kill its way to victory.” I found that this quote really captures the overall theme of the movie. The U.S. goes to ruthless extremes to get what they need, no matter who or what they have to annihilate. These orders are given directly from the White House and passed through American troops and an elite military unit, the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC.) JSOC are not only given orders, but also a hit list issued by President Barack Obama of people to kill. According the Dirty Wars, the names on the list were endless.
In the film, Jeremy Scahill speaks of an incident that occurred in Gardez, Afghanistan where a house was raided and killed by American troops. The most unfortunate
The book Hardball by Chris Matthews gives deep insight about politics. Throughout the book Chris explains different strategies or concepts used in politics, also know as political maxims. He explains how they are used, how they work, and he gives historical evidence showcasing each political maxim. There are many quotes in Hardball taken from history that are used to explain and demonstrate different political maxims. This is a quote used in the book coming from previous president Jimmy Carter.
Take no prisoners. Fight to the bitter end.” (Dower 10). Slogans such as these were often spoken by soldiers and was a duty of their own to never surrender to the opposing side. Chapter 1, “Patterns of a War,” exemplifies the idea of no surrender, which led to a violent outcome.
All Speeches have there ups and down Its how you present it that really matters. If you have an organized speech your speech will present itself because it will flow out naturally. Making sure that you have constant eye contact with the audience will help sound you more credible. Most importantly making sure that the topic that you have chosen makes sense to what you are doing. While listening to the current even speech that Napoleon Dynamite did and the speech that SpongeBob Square Pants did it is clear that one has practiced more and demonstrated better speech concepts.

Inhumane In the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel, the theme man's inhumanity man relates to cruelty by calling them names, treating them horribly, and making them look the same. Even the Jews in the same barracks fight each other for food, and some people suffocate because they are laying on top of each other. In this quote “Faster you swine”(Wiesel 91). This quote shows the reader how the Nazis treated the Jews when they are marching to Gleiwitz.
In Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, the mad dog is used as a reflection of many different struggles faced by specific characters as well as society as a whole. Foremost, the dog represents everything Atticus is facing in the novel. He has internal struggles, like many main characters, such as having to choose between right and wrong as well as fighting more physical things such as the jury. This leads into the next point: the dog represents discrimination and hatred itself in the novel.
Do you know how it feels to be discriminated against just because of who you are? If you don’t, then read the book “The Outsiders”. The Outsiders is a novel by S.E. Hinton. It is a story of young men fighting for their rights, just because they are lower class. One of the young men is named Two-Bit Mathews.

In Lord of the Flies, the war paint represents the savagery that has taken over the kids. Towards the beginning of the novel Ralph said, “ ‘Well, we won’t be painted,’ said Ralph, “because we aren’t savages’ ” (Golding 66). This quote shows that at first the children had control over their savageness in them. When the the children were first introduced to the island they still had a lot of their manners, that controlled their savageness.
In Lord of the Flies there is a war between civilization and chaos. The side of chaos is Jack’s side and the civil side is Ralph’s side. Jack’s side has no hope for civilization, there is just chaos because all they want to do is eat, sleep, kill and repeat. In the end chaos takes over the island, but there is hope for civilization.
Everyone may seem innocent at the moment of birth, but there is an entity hiding beneath the pure heart, corruption. Babies are the embodiment of innocence yet they grow with corruption. The novel by William Golding, Lord of the Flies, portrays a society run by naïve kids, but the island’s influence takes a toll on the boys’ sanity. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding depicts a group of innocent young boys’ corruption without civilization through a progression of aggressive diction and unsettling imagery to reveal people’s capacity for evil. Golding utilizes diction of madness in order to describe the boys’ jump into Jack’s society of savagery and manipulation.
“You’re sentenced in a jail and you got a date ahead of when you know you’re gonna be let loose” ( Kesey, page 190). The lifeguard that is talking to McMurphy say that being in jail is better than being in at the ward because you do not know when you are going to leave. After this McMurphy talks to Harding and says “Yes; chopping away the brain. Frontal-lobe castration. I guess if she can’t cut below the belt she’ll do it above”.

That’s one of them. War is hell is another. War begins in illusion and ends in blood and tears. Soldiers go to war for their country’s cause and wind up fighting for one another. Soldiers are dreamers (Sassoon said that).
“Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.” President John Fitzgerald Kennedy said to the United Nations General Assembly, on September 25th, 1961. This quote is saying that the killing of soldiers in war will soon destroy all. This relates to both stories because both soldiers regretted killing someone.
