Latin America is an ethnically and racially diverse region, and this diversity is made visible through the multiplicity of cultural expressions and different ways of living of its citizens. However, the Latin American societies were influenced by hegemonic racial ideologies that created social structures and diminished the way in which indigenous populations in Afro-descendant populations are represented in recognized in the region.
One of the mechanisms through which racial ideologies manifest and reproduce is the media, which over the decades have served as a space for the reproduction of images and representations about ethnic and racial diversity and ethnic populations several.
