Lastly, the Multiculturalism Policy of 1971 has impacted the evolution of the social-cultural identity overtime for Canada. Multiculturalism was first introduced to Canada after the second world war when two key European ethnic groups, the British and the French, joined the aboriginal peoples in Canada. This caused Canada to rethink the role of other ethnicities within the society and became the start of multiculturalism. The Multiculturalism Policy was a way for Canada to no longer be a white country, but to be more diverse, with different ethnicities within the society. Canada’s laws and policies recognize Canada’s diversity by race, cultural heritage, ethnicity, religion and place of origin as well as guarantee to all men and women complete

I believe the peacemakers are a viable source of racial tensions, not only do they hold expertise in conflicts with racial issues but they focus all their time on these kinds of situations. The peacemakers have provided many years of great service to various cities all across the country who have had race situations and have eased racial conflicts between race groups. The peacemakers are a viable alternative to traditional law enforcement methods since law enforcement can sometimes not hold the proper knowledge to handle situations within the community that involve race. Patrol officers in City Police Departments or County Sheriff 's Department 's can only do so much in regards to racial tensions, as we have seen for many years, it usually

In this world the diversity and separation of race/culture is so high. It’s hard to think that we all came from one place one point in time. People came up with the idea to divide cultures and this has immediately caused many of troubles. With this diversity people start to hate where they came from and some people become proud of where they come from. Although pride for one country can be good many people have taken it to the extreme and this tends to have a negative effect on the way we treat people from other nations.
First of all I would like to define sociological perspective before commenting on the sociological perspective on race and ethnic relations. Sociological perspective is a view on human behaviour and its connection to society as a whole. It invites us to look for the link between the behaviour of individual people and the structures of the society in which they live. We look at our society and the way it is arranged. Sociological perspective helps us to understand how society is important in shaping our everyday lives.

A nation state is a group of people who share common bonds and live within a geographical territory under a system of government (S4 Integrated Humanities, 2016). The government of a nation state should provide for its people in the best possible way. Diversity refers to recognizing that each individual is unique, with their own differences, be it their race, ethnicity, religious beliefs or ideologies. When there is diversity in a nation state, there is bound to be disagreements, since different groups of people will have different opinions with others, which may escalate into conflict. A multiculturalist perspective should be attained by a nation in order to deal with cultural and ethnic diversity.
Racism is discrimination towards another race and claimed that one 's race is superior to others. It is a significant issue that has been around since the 19th century. These people faced difficulty to being accepted in the social world as they suffered from prejudices made by ignorant people. Although this racial issue is not severe in Brunei and may not be taken seriously, it is still prevalent and cannot be denied that racism does happen and exist among Brunei community.

Living in California, there have been different elements that have influenced my cultural upbringing, such as, my family’s traditions, values, norms and beliefs.
