During the time of Moro – Spanish wars Magical stories had being existed and it was really enjoyed to hear the myth like Ranaw. Ranaw is the story of a boy who had a magical sword which was very useful during his times but then in every story there was a certain moment which either happy or sad. I’d like the whole myth story of Ranaw, like in the First plot when the Datu together with his men seeking for food to eat in the wilderness instead of hunting they found a boy beside the river. The boy was very healthy, strong and gorgeous. The Datu name the boy “BATO” or stone in English because that boy named Bato is hard to touch like his body is covered with muscle not like a normal baby. At the age of 20 Bato was being respondent of a situation of not being stated. Just because bato was accused he left his hometown and hides himself for very long years. But then the Datu did not stop finding him, Bato was found and imprisoned in the dark place without food to eat and water to drink. Many years goes by Bato was became not to himself, his not on his mind and he has a very deep imagine that which he could talk to the things that surrounds him. A few days later Bato together with the things inside the dark place they have a short conversation which they talks about the magical sword, but Bato did not listened to them, he never believed that there was thing like that have existed inside his room. It’s just only a comparison between the past and future. Which is true, because some of the men before are very strong and aggressive to fight against anyone? Ranaw is the story of Mindanao. A story for children in Mindanao and a story for just to know what Mindanao is
Fantastical Realization Fantasy and fiction flood most of our childhood but, the older a child gets, the quicker fiction turns to fact as slowly but surely, the rug of fantastical imagination is pulled out beneath them. This is exactly the case in Li-Young Lee’s short poem A Story. A Story is about a father who struggles to tell stories to his son, but as the boy grows older, his coming of age begins to make their relationship complex. Even though the complexity of the relationship is never directly stated, Lee shows this idea through point of view and literary devices. found in the poem.
Lia’s parents, Nao Kao and Foua had the believe that the loud sound made by the door led to the fleeing of her soul. The diagnosis they made was qaug dab peg to her complication, “the spirit catches you and you fall down”. In that state of concern for the safety of their daughter, Nao Kao and Foua had a believe that her sudden illness had a special transformation on her, since several people who suffer from epilepsy were appointed to be ‘shamans’ or ‘tvix neebs’ at the Merced Community Medical Center (MCMC) is where they sought for treatment, though they as well used ancient methods of healing and used a tvix neeb as they tried their best to have her soul back. Due to their culture, they believed in a little neeb and a little medicine, and they were astonished that a lot of

The novel peeks interest of many audience as the novel indulge a wide rage of reader to empathized with the struggles of trying to maintain a control over an identity within a high standard society as well as connecting to the readers by consolidating with the difficulties of going against an enforced ideals of love and family that critics against one’s own construction of a healthy relationship. The poem “One Boy Told Me” by Naomi Shihab Nye, was told by her son when he was two and three years of age. His comments, thoughts, and remarks were jotted down verbatim by Naomi and pieced together to create the one of a kind free verse poem. Nye assembled the phrases into individual stanza’s where they coherently flow to one another to illustrate the mind of a toddler. Wide ranges of emotions and personalities invoke the inner child and their curiosity. Overall, her son’s interpretations of his surroundings and understandings are represented in how the idioms expressed set the stage for intrusiveness, humor, and poetic devices to contribute to the overall meaning.
Although it can be confusing at times, the author made it clear that what he is writing may or may not be facts but it is what he believe is that truth. In spite the fact that this book is interesting to me, the writing style decrease my understanding to the book. While reading this book, I notice that I was starting to doubt the author and his story due to how he had mentioned that his story may or may not be true. Regardless of how confusing the book prove to be the case, it is his life story and it is fair for him to blurs the line between fiction and fact in these story.
A dead man had appeared on this village’s island, and this man was like no other ordinary person they had seen, he was a lot bigger, muscular and handsome than anyone. As the people gathered around him they started imagining his life, “they thought that if that magnificent man were to live in the village, he would need to have had the widest doors, the highest ceiling, and the strongest floor…”(pg. 49). The village used the narratives created about this man to improve their village, not only for the better of the villagers but if anyone else different were to land on the island. With Donald Trump being the Republican nominee for the presidential election I believe Diane Guerrero’s story can be connected to many aspects of today’s society. The racist comments that Donald Trump has said about Mexicans and how he says he wants to build a wall to stop people coming to the U.S is what evokes this feeling of fear into undocumented families everyday. This fear is the same fear that Diane went through everyday not knowing whether her family was going to be safe from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). I wanted to know a bit more about Diane Guerrero’s life and how life was for her when her parents were deported to Columbia and I found an article named Op-Ed ‘ Orange is the New Black’ actress: My parents were deported , which mentions how Diane was basically by herself when her parents were deported.
