1.1 PREAMBLE A large number of technologies have emerged in the past few years in response of the pressing need for reducing prototyping and product development lead-time. During the last two decades there has been a continued acceleration in product and market variation. The success of electronics, telecommunications, automotive, medical, packaging, appliances, leisure and sports industries in responding to rapidly varying customer demands for higher quality standards with lower costs depends on the ability to develop the product with the application of state-of-art technology. The demand for shorter development time, time to market and reduced product life cycle resulted for the emergence of new paradigm called Rapid Prototyping Rapid …show more content…
Also, an allowance, called draft allowance is provided on the vertical surfaces if the pattern to facilitates removal from the die. Making a pattern using wax or some other material that can be melted away makes the mould. Pattern may be made in loose pieces and then welded together by means of the hot wire resistance welding iron to form the complete pattern. The numbers of patterns are welded together along with the common gating system. 1.2 CLASSIFICATION OF RAPID PROTOTYPING TECHNOLOGY. Technological advancement and globalisation resulted in increased competition. This has enhanced new methodologies and quality awareness along with the reduction in manufacturing time and lead-time in new product development. The most promising technology is the rapid manufacturing, the combination of Rapid Prototyping (RP) and Rapid Tooling (RT) technologies. Figure 1.1 Classifications of Rapid Prototyping methods (adopted from 1998Pham and …show more content…
• To decrease development time. • To decrease costly mistakes. • To minimize sustaining engineering changes. • To extend product lifetime by adding necessary features and eliminating redundant features early in the design. Application of Rapid manufacturing in new product design and development reduces the lead-time to considerable extent and also reduces the cost of tooling which in turn results in overall cost reduction. A Rapid Prototyping and Rapid Tooling promise to reduce the tooling lead time by 50% or more. These types of technologies are new and much used in Indian scenario is worth As an engineer, they must be well known and with this the study of this process in details was taken up as a Dissertation on “Rapid Prototyping: Tool for Casting” 1.4 OBJECTIVES OF THE WORK: 1. To study the feasibility of Rapid Prototyping (ABS material) in prototype building to reduce lead time. 2. Cost optimisation of RP die using Rapid Prototyping FDM process. In this dissertation work, the feasibility of RP ABS was studied for producing prototype for initial. The techno-economic analysis for the above process was also carried out. 1.5 METHODOLOGY OF
Kimberley Ehrlich is parent of a 2nd grader in the FOCUS program and is the co-chair. The FOCUS Board and parents feel that there was not a due process and the notice was submitted as a done deal. They would like to find a favorable outcome for all parties involved. They feel they have reached an impasse. They are requesting a stay of the phasing out of the program, reinstatement of the focus page on the district website, allowing the program to market and hold their mandatory information meeting on 2/18.

Q 1. With respect to lean manufacturing, what do you see as “next steps” for Daktronics? Should Daktronics extend lean techniques to non-manufacturing areas? What are the pros and cons? Answer:
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY M. PROCESS --> situational analysis - product life cycle Product life cycle involves four main stages which a product has to pass through such an introduction, growth maturity and decline. Numerous business innovate or invent inspired by someone’s great idea to produce a product which would be fresh in market, different compared to others and which also is innovative and perhaps superior to the one which available. Similarly with the most successful company Microsoft corporation’s product Microsoft office which as already touched to maturity stage according to its features: • Product features and packaging try to differentiate the product from those of competitors: Microsoft office is a brand that has extensively diversified

ACC relied on its ability to produce high quality customized products for its users. In USA, 1991 had seen sales fall by 3.9% over the last year and the industry was seeing a decline since 1987. ACC was struggling with increasing costs and deteriorating quality In line with the industry trends.
Introduction: The term 'advanced development technology ' in construction industry covers an extensive variety of present day techniques and practices that envelop the most recent improvements in materials technology, design methodology, amount studying, offices management, administrations, structural examination and design, and management skills used in construction industry. Technological advancements in different fields such as medical industry, business industry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering etc. have brought many positive impacts. Fusing advanced development technology into construction industry can expand levels of value, proficiency, safety, maintainability and incentive for money. The advanced technologies in construction industry are very useful for all type of small and large scale construction projects.
Organizational set up has to be favourable to support new product development. Foremost companies must allocate funds for research and development, the conventional way is the percent of sales technique. Others chose to allow employees dedicate a certain amount of work time on new product development. Companies next have to organize the process of development.
• Gain maximum understanding from tools & prototypes etc. • Make frequent Prototypes & reduce the time taken for development Process. • Early involvement of the suppliers at design process. Strategic Recommendations • Company can use the Benchmarking Technique. • Company can work on to decrease the Lead time at Development Process.
Assignment: Teradyne Corporation: Jaguar Project Case Students Name Institutional Affiliation Teradyne Corporation: The Jaguar Project Case Introduction Teradyne corporation is a semiconductor test machine manufacturer. The new range of testing equipment had been eagerly awaited since the traditional system had exhibited quite a number of challenges in project development. The project introduced useful aspects of project management such as formal project tracking tools, effectively and adequately designed development process and the principle of upfront planning. O’Brien’s strategies had experienced much success especially in hardware development but seemed to struggle in the software department in software implementation. The main question is `Did the new tools affect development processes.
Coordinate with customer relationship management to identify customer articulated needs 2. Select materials and suppliers in conjunction with procurement 3. Develop production technology in manufacturing flow to manufacture and integrate in to the best supply chain flow for the product/market combination G. Manufacturing Flow Management The manufacturing process produces and supplies products to the distribution channels based on past forecasts. The production process has to be flexible to respond to market changes and Mass Customization must absorb.
In the first year of my graduation, the subject of workshop technology was offered which helped me to understand the basics of manufacturing. It involved study and working on machines like Lathe, Milling, Universal Grinding Machine, and other specific machinery. In later stage of my graduate programme, I
