Ray Bradbury, an American fantasy and horror author wrote many novels, short stories, articles, screenplays, and television series. At the young age of 12 or 13, Bradbury decided to become a writer, though it took him many years to become a recognized author. To emulate his heroes and “to live forever,” Bradbury continued to strive for success. Unable to pay to attend college, Bradbury spend three days a week for ten years at the local library learning as much as he could from other authors works; while also selling newspapers. A year after graduating from college, Bradbury published his own fan magazine, Futuria Fantasia, with nearly every piece being his own. Using multiple pseudonyms, Bradbury attempted to disguise his one-man show. “I was still years away from writing my first good short story,” he later said, “but I could see my future.. Unable to enter the war due to poor vision, Ray Bradbury developed into a full time writer in 1943 and published Dark Carnival, a collection of short stories, in 1947. Maturing in his writing abilities, Bradbury published a detailed account between humans and native Martians on a red planet titled The Martian Chronicles in 1950. His best-know work Fahrenheit 451, published in 1953, instantly became a classic due to its themes of censorship and conformity.
