The Boston Tea Party: Causes Of The American Revolution

Prior to the start of the Seven Years War, the colonies of the United States had experienced a permissive relationship with Great Britain due to the act of Salutary Neglect. However, after the war, England felt they could no longer have such uninvolved relations with the colonists and began instituting stricter policies over them. Consequently, the Seven Years War marked a great turning point in colonial relations with England, with changes such as the legislation which led to the increase of British control as well as anti-British sentiment in the colonies. But despite these changes, continuities such as loyalty to Britain still remained after the war.

Some historians believe that American Colonists were in the wrong to start the American Revolution. “To this day, now over two hundred years later, the reasons behind this abrupt transition of England and its American colonies from allies to enemies are debated.” . I believe that the American colonists made the right decision on seperating from Britain because of the new tax acts imposed, Boston Massacre, and Intolerable Acts.

The Articles of Confederation go through a long and difficult process. After the Independence War in 1776, the 13 states adopted the Articles of Confederation; it could not solve the problems in early time of America completely.It played an important role in the history of America, because these Articles influenced the Constitutional Convention and promoted the development of history of the United States.

The purpose of these acts were, to punish the Americans after the events from the Boston Tea Party. The reason why they punished the Americans was to teach them a lesson after dumping the tea into the water. The Americans called the laws The Intolerable Acts. The so called Acts were, the Boston Port Act, Massachusetts Government Act, Quartering Act, and finally the Quebec Act.

Two hundred and forty-one years ago, British Parliament passed the Coercive Acts which not only punished the colonists’ defiant behavior but also sparked a war that would change the world forever. The Coercive Acts were a series of four acts that punished the colonists for the Boston Tea Party, they would be restricted until they paid for the tea they dumped into the harbor. The Coercive Acts are a series of acts that were in direct response to the Boston Tea Party that punished the colonists for this event, led to the need for another continental congress meeting, and ultimately impacted the decision for the colonist to declare independence.

In my opinion the one event that had the most significant role in the American Revolution was when the British made the Coercive/ Intolerable Acts. When the British made these acts, they cut off ports and a colony, and made a number of acts to punish the colonies. These acts made the colonist start an uprising against the British. These uprises lead to the colonist going against the British and starting the American Revolution.

The American Revolution was the first war in America 's history. It was caused by many events such as the French and Indian War, the Intolerable Acts, and the king’s oppressive rules. However, the main factors that caused this war were, taxation, not being allowed to have representation in Parliament and being denied their rights.

The Intolerable Acts were five laws that were passed by the British Parliament against the American Colonies in 1774. They were given the name "Intolerable Acts" by American Patriots who felt they simply could not "tolerate" such unfair laws.The British passed these acts as punishment for the Boston Tea Party.The Intolerable Acts (also called the Coercive Acts) were harsh laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774. The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occurred on March 5, 1770, between a “patriot”. They were throwing sticks, snowballs, and trash at a group of British troops. The loyalists got very annoyed with the patriots so they shot into the mob killing five. The riot began when around 50 colonists attacked a British sentinel. A British officer called in for additional troops and they too were attacked so they had to fire into the mob.

Many events took place - the Boston Tea Party for example - before the American Revolution. Many were what caused it to happen. All of them were not just for the Americans cause, some were for the British too. Some things that caused the American Revolution are all the taxes without representation, the dept of the king, and the colonists rebelling.

The Intolerable Acts can be viewed as one of the first sparks to the flaming fire of America claiming Independence. The Intolerable Acts, also called the Coercive Acts, were a series of laws passed in 1774 in order to punish the colonies for defying their rule. Four out of five of the Intolerable Acts were directed towards Massachusetts directly and the other was directed at Quebec. All of the Acts were supposed to stop the colonies from defying England’s Rule and show the colonies that England was still in charge.
