Individuals are easily able to obtain an animal because of the low budget; however, people don’t recognize the harmful aspects of owning these growing exotic animals. In addition, this leads to the animals not being taken care of because of the unprepared owner. Animals require intensive care such as “living space and nutrition” (“License the Cats”). For example, If a tiger isn 't given the space and nutrition that is needed, it can lead into the tiger turning violent and result in the owner being mauled because
That expensive costs do not include things like food, habitat costs, and vet trips, which all are very expensive also. Safety is another main concern of having exoic pets. Even if people have had their animals for years they could “turn on you” and attack you when you don’t expect it. Next time you are thinking that you want an exotic pet think of the cost and your personal
Are Zoos Unethical By:Kalynn Deppe An issue that has been hotly debated since the brink of zoos has been whether they are ethical or not. Although some believe that zoos can be beneficial to animals, thousands of research has shown this not to be true. The main reasons zoos are devious is because, there artificial environments are harmful, the animals are more prone to diseases, and it can damage children's views on society. To begin, zoos are unprincipled due to the fact that they take animals out of the wild and place them in synthetic environments that have failed to meet the animals designated standard of living. For example, research has shown that some larger animals need for space is not fulfilled in their confined cages.
But in these cases they are sanctuaries, or special places that these animals are at so they are being saved and helped. Almost never are zoos, aquariums, or circuses saving animals because they are almost extinct or because the animals were hurt. The animals in these places were most cases born into captivity and so they cannot return to the wild. Therefore they must stay in these places, which is not fair to them because they had no choice of being born into that
A current issue that affects today’s government is the possession of exotic animals. People should not be allowed to keep exotic animals. The possession of exotic animals threaten the public’s health and sometimes it threatens the animal’s health. The reason why exotic animals Exotic animals attack, spread disease, and an average owner cannot take care of an exotic animal. The first reason exotic animals should not be to kept is because they maim and kill.
Hunting has a deeper meaning to some people and to take that away from them is in some ways inhumane. In addition, the detrimental wildlife issues that would emerge if hunting were no longer an option to keep animal populations under control would increase significantly. The idea of keeping hunting alive is crucial to keep our wildlife safe. Hunting may not apply to all people in the world, but it has to be done. In today’s world there is no other possible way to manage our wildlife in such an effective manner as we do it now.
Domestication is not something that happens in one or two generations: it takes hundreds or thousands of years” (Lewis). Exotic animals are unpredictable and undomesticated. The definition of domesticated is an animal that is tamed and kept as a pet or on a farm, a tiger, however, does not fit that definition because it is not tamed, it is a wild animal. So, think again before you buy that tiger. In addition, that tiger could be spreading diseases and there are many other dangers to having that
In conclusion, I do not agree with Bilger’s idea that we spend too much money on our animals. If you care about your animal it should be your choice how much money you spend on them. All animals are unique and we form special bonds with them. As an owner is it your job to take care of them and help them when in
Is putting animals in captivity good for them? What happens to animals in captivity? Would it be just better to leave them in nature? Putting animals in captivity has long been an argument and people often question if it is actually good for the animals or if it would be better to help them if needed and then let them back into nature. And although there are benefits for animals in captivity, it could also be very bad for them.
Because people think that, they support the zoos by giving them money to see these animals instead of going to animal preservations where the enclosures aren’t entirely man made. Animals that can function and survive in the wild should not be kept in zoos because the enclosures do not meet the needs of the animals living in them, zoos restrict animals from their innate behavior and their natural instincts, and zoos are expensive and damage animals homes. Enclosures in zoos do not provide everything the animal needs. In paragraph 6 in the article
What if it is poisonous? What if it killed someone? I think only normal animals like dogs, cats, bunnies, and fish should be allowed to be pets. Your exotic pet could hurt the owner! I know I wouldn’t want something in my house that I thought would hurt me.
“Dogs do not have many advantages over people, but one of them is extremely important: euthanasia is not forbidden by law in their case; animals have the right to a merciful death.” (Milan Kundera) many people ask why is it allowed to for us to put down our pets when they are in pain but we can’t do it for people. Keeping people alive by machines when they are in pain and can’t move or do anything isn’t living its cruelty.” If I had terminal cancer, I had a few weeks to live, I was in tremendous amount of pain if they just effectively wanted to turn off the switch and legalese that by legalizing euthanasia, I 'd want that(john Key) Many people believe it’s a good way to let go of someone go but others think it’s wrong to end someone’s life prematurely if they still had some chance to live.
Even though these factors are great, eliminating animal captivity for entertainment purposes is still the best choice for the innocent animals. The most important reason why circuses should not be allowed to capture wild animals for entertainment purposes is because the animals are abused. Around the world, "[...] circus[es] [...] [have] been cited for violating the [...] standards of care set by the United States Animal Welfare [...]" ("11 Facts About"). Studies that are produced have made the horrific treatment of animals hard to ignore. The AWA has cited many circuses for having scraps of metal that can cut the animals, and wood that can easily cause splinters near the animal 's cages.
The chances of you dieing from captive animals are miniscule compared to those of falling down the stairs. Animal rights activists are known to have made up false claims about “public safety” just to free the animals. “If it is illegal for businesses to advertise and sell products using misleading and fraudulent claims, why is it OK for legislators and lobbyists to introduce, gain public support and pass bills using fraudulent claims they can’t back up with facts?” (REXANO 5). There is a factor most people do not consider when getting any pet (mainly exotic), Disease. It comes in all animals but disease is probably the predominant way that humans are harmed by any animal.
