It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Bryant Mettler. As the Principal of Washington Virtual Academies (WAVA) Elementary School, Bryant brings tremendous passion and commitment to student achievement and school improvement as well as an ability to design and implement creative and impactful educational experiences and programs for students. WAVA Elementary School is an Alternative Learning Experience online public school within Omak School District. Our students work from home in conjunction with a caring adult on teacher assignments and online activities aligned with Common Core standards and expectations. Mettler brings a great deal of positive energy, good humor and consideration to his daily tasks and interactions. He has built strong professional relationships with the entire academic leadership team and has contributed to the growth of the entire WAVA K-12 school community. Bryant has a superior work ethic and shows tremendous commitment to his ongoing professional growth and improvement. Evidence of Bryant’s tremendous work ethic and capacity include his rapid mastery of the WA mandated Teacher Principal Evaluation project. In addition to his day-to-day administrative oversight duties, Bryant evaluates 30 teachers each year. Teacher survey feedback has shown that he has a strong understanding of the Marzano framework and that his advice and guidance has helped advance the professional practice of the staff. In order to manage a school of 1500 students and over 40 staff, one has to track and stay on top of a myriad of tasks and responsibilities.
