Being an active member within my school community is something that has always been of importance to me. During my time at the University of Rhode Island (URI), I have been heavily involved in many organizations and have held different leadership roles all while excelling in my academics. Since my time at URI I have been a consecutive member of the Dean’s List with a GPA of 3.83. Although I am very passionate about my academics, it is my involvements and leadership roles that make my time so enjoyable. I am s second year Resident Advisor as well as a second year URI 101 Mentor. I also serve as the president of URI’s National Association of Black Accountant’s. As well as being an active member within my fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Although I have enjoyed my time thus far, I am ready for a new experience, an international experience!
Throughout high school, I have involved myself with various activities, both curricular and extracurricular. As a member of National Honor Society (NHS), I participate in numerous public service events. Some of which include volunteering at Springdale’s annual Strawberry Festival, Senior Citizen Brunch and Street Fair amongst a variety of school functions such as Education Celebration and our recent Job Fair. Through NHS, I also tutor other students in the High School as well as students of any age in the district at the Springdale Public Library. Outside from NHS, I have volunteered at a variety of places.
As a junior in high school, I was inducted into the National Honor Society for doing exceptionally well in my academic endeavors and actively participating in volunteer events. My contributions through this organization have made a significant impact on both my personal development and my community’s support services. The numerous volunteer projects in which I have participated have prepared me to continue helping others in the future. Through projects such as building houses from the ground-up with Habitat for Humanity, I have developed teamwork skills, discovered my management potential, and increased my social network, all while working to provide services for less fortunate individuals in my community. Some

By active community service, leadership roles, and hard work, I have learned the incredible importance of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service. Through these things, I have been substantially prepared by the Beta Club to serve others as I depart high school and
Therefore, my ambition motivated me to join Keep Brownsville Beautiful on the effort to improve the community’s environment. I was part of the recycling events in which took place during many high school football games to collect empty plastic bottles to recycle them to reduce greenhouse effect. My other participations in community service events are with the National Honor Society. As the Parliamentarian for the Lopez Early College High School National Honor Society, I contributed in the participation of the organization to be present at the Mile of Hope to bring awareness for breast cancer. In addition, we organized a canned- food drive to be donated for the school’s janitors and those in need during the Thanksgiving break, we collected toys for “Toys For Tots”, wrote Christmas Cards for Veterans and volunteered at Spanish Meadows, a nursing home, to share the Christmas Spirit with the elders.
Volunteering at a busy food bank transformed me in a way I couldn’t even imagine. Being up front and center among people taught me confidence I had never experienced. While performing my countless roles (providing prayer for clients, setting up food
Moreover, I have grown to become a charismatic, strong, courageous, brave, and optimistic young adult that can and will insinuate a difference in society. I wish to inspire people one day and hopefully stir up some deep emotions that reminds them about the finer aspects of life. With my best foot forward, I am dedicated, if given the chance, to taking advantage of all the resources and opportunities that Montclair State University has to offer me, all while keeping other people’s best interest in mind as well while doing
In my years as a student at Mahwah High School, I believe that I have displayed various examples of scholarship, leadership, service, and character that I deem would qualify me to join this prominent society. Being a high school student who balances the rigorous work of AP and Honors courses, tough sports, clubs, and volunteering just shows my ability to bend to anything that comes my way. In the beginning of this year, my character abilities
Throughout high school I have participated in many different activities and programs, but one of the opportunities I was given I will carry with me forever. As a junior at River Valley I participated in the Marion General Teen Volunteer Program. After interviewing and being placed in the physical therapy unit I took the opportunity to branch out into other areas of the hospital. I soon made my way to the labor and delivery floor where everyday a miracle happened. My duties while volunteering included assisting the nurses during hearing checks, changing diapers, and rocking crying infants in special care.
I am an active member in a wide variety of activities. I am very involved in 4-H and FFA. Through these clubs, I have participated in many community service projects. I work hard in the classroom and I’m very goal driven. I have a 3.14 GPA, and I strive to do better each and every day.
I hope to bring diversity to all who walk on the campus. My background has shaped me into the intelligent African American woman I am today. Without growing up in the “hood”, I may have not been able to find the best career that interested me. I also would not have been able over all the challenges thrown at me. Instead I remained determined and motivated so that I was able to achieve all of the goals set before me.
Community service does not only have a profound impact on our community, but the impact it has on the individual people is even greater. The concept of community service has always been something that I grew up with, and now that I am older I better understand how important community service is for society. I have participated in community service activities. Starting in elementary school, I helped feed the homeless and rescue animals. Even with my wide range of volunteer experience, it was difficult to find an activity that would be meaningful and fulfill my thirty-hour obligation for my senior project. Despite the many community service opportunities available, it was hard to find one that really resonated with me.
