Your skin changes as you age. You might notice wrinkles, age spots and dryness. Your skin also becomes thinner and loses fat, making it less plump and smooth and it might take longer to heal, too. Sunlight is a major cause of skin aging. You can protect yourself by staying out of the sun when it is strongest, using sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher, wearing protective clothing, and avoiding sunlamps and tanning beds.1 Good physical appearance boost’s someone’s confidence as they can proudly show a better side of themselves. As one of Vietnam 's most profitable crops, it is exported to markets all over the Southeast Asia. The commercialization of the crop is also catching up in Thailand, New Zealand, Australia and Hawaii.6 Red dragonfruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) or “Pitaya” is gaining its popularity in the Philippine market. The plant is adapted to tropical or arid climate with rainfall of 30-40 inch and any kind of oil with organic matter. Red dragonfruit is a vining, terrestrial or epiphytic cactus with succulent three-winged, green stems, reaching up to 20 feet long.7 Red dragonfruit is among the most nutritious and wonderful exotic fruits, due to its vital nutrients, the Pitaya fruit is suitable for all diets as it supplements fiber which is best for laxative and liver. Studies also suggest that dragon fruit promotes the growth of probiotics. Similarly, people who have high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity have attested to the fruits goodness. Studies have shown that a mature dragon fruit contains considerable amount of total soluble solids, rich in organic acids (Stintzing et al., 2003), protein (Le Bellec et al., 2006) and other minerals like potassium, magnesium, calcium and vitamin C. Cai et al. (2003) reported that the structure activity relationships of various betacyanins and betaxanthins exhibited free radical scavenging capacities which further contribute to the elevation of interest in H.polyrhizus to be a source of antioxidant.9 Today, the researchers have been shown that the recent findings in the Red dragonfruit show that the fruit helps in the supplementation of fiber which is best for laxative and liver.
