Redcrosse Knight represents Holiness. He is a knight bearing that bears a symbol of Jesus Christ upon his shield. His holiness contains moral and religious clarity, as he fights deceptive monsters such as Errour (Book 1 #14) on behalf of his lady Una. Una herself is truth. She reminds Redcrosse that his holiness comes from God, not from within, allowing him to out think Errour and eventually destroy her and her babies. Redcrosse is in fact a "tall clownishe yonge man" page 779. He alone takes on the quest to free Una's parents from the dragon. His adventures represent the Christian's struggle to maintain personal holiness while avoiding pride. In his travels, Redcrosse encounters many demons. One of the first is Archimago. He is dressed as an old Sire who offers them shelter, but while they sleep, he plots against them with his dark arts. The sorcerer summons nature spirits to do his requests. He sends Morpheus, (Book 1 #36) god of sleep, to set about a lying dream of Una’s unfaithfulness to Redcrosse. The giant is about to kill Redcrosse but Duessa averts Orgoglio from killing him by offering herself as a lover to the giant. This satisfies Orgoglio and he imprisons Redcrosse in his dungeon, and then gives Duessa a splendid beast-steed. The dwarf companion of Redcrosse escapes Orgoglio’s dungeon and finds Una as well as Prince Arthur. He explains the circumstances to both of them telling his exscape and Redcrosses need of help. Una gains the protection of Prince Arthur and takes him on as her champion against Orgoglio (Book 1 Canto 7

“The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell is a story about a man, Sanger Rainsford, whose ideals and overall character change throughout the story, specifically about hunting, due to his encounter with General Zaroff. At the beginning of the story Rainsford is a stuck up man. He could not care less about any other living things other than humans. He believes all living wildlife are expendable and only there for his pleasure of hunting. During the story Rainsford has to make many quick and overall difficult decisions during his encounters with the ocean, General Zaroff, and the island wilderness to survive, that change how he thinks about animals.
Red being just a color also has many aspects. The color can symbolize anger, death, struggle, blood, and determination. For example, when someone is said to be angry, one will “see red.” As well as red being a powerful color, when in the everyday life a stop sign, fire truck, ambulance, red stop light, one will take action when seeing the color. When receiving a “red alert” one will be at the highest point of threat and will also take action.
Red shows the reader negativity and hatred and anger and a flirtatious as her personality. Her nails, lips, dress, and shoes were all red, symbolising this all. Also, her hair was “hung in little rolled clusters, like sausages,” portraying to the reader that she had ugly, sausage like hair, which makes the reader visualise her as a negative icon in the novella. The reader can then, therefore, foreshadow that the end of the book has something to do with Curley’s wife. When the reader reasons of the world mules, they think of donkeys, but here they are stating them as fancy shoes.

In Charlotte Perkins Gilman's "The Yellow Wallpaper", the narrator of the story is constantly at battle with many different forces, such as John, her husband, the yellow wallpaper that covers the walls of her room, and ultimately herself. Throughout the story the narrator further detaches herself from her life and becomes fixated on the yellow wallpaper that surrounds her in her temporary home, slowly driving her mad. The narrator of "The Yellow Wallpaper" is a major and dynamic character as she is the main character of the story, and throughout the story her personality and ways of thinking change drastically.
