Game Reflection The game that I chose is called “Who has the biggest brain?”. This was a game that was launched on Facebook around 2008. This game was basically a challenge between a person and all the people on his/her friends’ list that are playing the same game. 1. Why do you think you like this game? Dig deeper and ask yourself further questions. So for example, if the answer is “because it makes me happy”, go deeper and ask why it makes you happy. What I like about this game; is that it is divided into many sections; each one testing a different area of the brain, mainly being Calculation, Logic, Memory and Visual. The game is very challenging, once I start to play, I cannot stop until I rank higher than my friends. Also, when it generates the score at the end of the game, it states the contribution of each section in my final score. This makes me identify which parts I am really good at, and which parts I need to work on. The game also gives me a chance to practice on my own without competing, to enhance the areas that I am not so good at. This is related to …show more content…
Depending on each person’s different abilities and learning styles, the different areas covered in this game expose the player to different types of intelligences including logical-mathematical intelligence, and spatial intelligence. (Lane, 1999) Personally, I enjoy playing games that test my mathematical abilities, as I demonstrate an ability to carry out calculations in my head and I also enjoy finding patters in shapes and numbers. (Gardner, 1993) Part of this game is a memory test, the computer shows you different objects in a certain order and then they disappear, then you have to order them accordingly. This also depends on the spatial intelligence of the player, to see the pictures and then process in which order they are, and finally to order them on his/her
This allows students to build more skills and identify faults so that they can improve for future annotations.
In “The Gamer’s Dilemma”, Morgan Luck seeks to align the moral standards of virtual murder and pedophilia. To this end he examines five arguments that are used to defend virtual murder while denounce virtual pedophilia. They are as follows: • Social acceptability A. Here Luck attempts to dissuade the notion of moral relativism. He does so with an illustration from history that of slavery, by showing that slavery was socially acceptable he claims thusly that it must be viewed as morally correct in the realm of this argument.
Having the children present their place cards once they have found all six, will showcase their ability to correctly count. By using the sticker reward as an incentive to finish the game, the children will be encouraged to participate and they will want to correctly present their cards to the best of their ability therefore demonstrating their ability to count and allowing them to practice this vital numeracy
It helps challenge and push me to be the best that I can possibly be while also trying to mentally establish dominance over my opponents. I’ve developed research skills, argumentation skills, presentation skills, and best yet I have made friendships from our own team and other teams. I’ve learned to like and respect students from all over southeast Idaho, even if they are not Blackfoot Broncos. If spending all your time collecting evidence is not your thing, then there are plenty of other options to choose from.
This helps the reader connect and understand the scientific method of the games. It helps the video game players remember what it was like to experiment by trial and error. Wright uses examples to reach the emotions and bring back memories of readers. “Just watch a kid with a new video game. The last thing they do is read the manual.
Setting Analysis: The Most Dangerous Game Can you imagine reading a story without a setting? Lucky for you, you do not have to imagine because it doesn’t exist. Every story happens somewhere at some time. Therefore, the setting of a story is very important to help with the plot of a story. In order to set a setting, you must add several details to help aid the reader to better comprehend the story.
Many of those who criticize videogames do this by comparing them to books. This comparison is seen as injurious and incorrect to author Steven Johnson. He believes the two are separate from each other and should not be looked at as one in the same. In his essay “Games” he outlines and argues that reading and gaming are different from each other, that both should be valued in their own way, and that books are crafted for and are better at expressing knowledge and opinion. A book and a video game are more unalike than many are willing to believe; they are both completely different mediums.
This is a benefit that would significantly help the students. Without it students may be struggling with a topic and the teachers are not even aware. By looking at the scores and talking with the previous teachers they can determine what might be the best way to teach the students. This leads to the next benefit, teachers can begin a new year knowing how much each student already knows. Knowing where each student lies is beneficial because the teacher is then able to focus
My last reason is that it improves self-esteem levels; helps improve self-confidence and helps kids deal with pressure. This is why I believe competitive sports should be a part of all kids’ lives. One major reason demonstrating why kids should play
Technology could help people adapt in ways that could help them change the way they live and think. Although, it could negatively affect the way people process information through the internet such as having problems with literacy and distractions. In “Smarter than You Think”, Clive Thompson claims that technology can help humans be smarter. Technology such as computers to mentally challenge themselves, so they can improve. Thompson talks about how playing a computer in any sort of game like chess could be a game changer for humans to help them improve their performance and overcome their mistakes.
In addition, the structure of today 's video games requires certain types of learning that are very helpful to students, specifically computer skills. This proves, that kids are gaining new knowledge from these games. They also improve hand-eye coordination, and raises players’ self-esteem. The article (Wiley 2016) Science Daily states, “Gaming use was associated with better function in brain circuits critical for learning based on the acquisition of new skills through practice.”
Psychology is defined as “the scientific study of the mind and behavior” (Introduction to Psychology, 2015). Psychology provides an overview of biology and behavior, sensation and perception, learning, memory, intelligence, language, motivation, emotion, abnormal psychology, and therapy (PSY 102 Course Syllabus, 2018, pg 1). Because psychology allows for a better understanding of how the mind and body work, this knowledge can be beneficial for any field of study or career. The theoretical and practical understanding of the basics of psychology can help with decision-making, critical thinking, stress management, time management, better understanding of others, improving communication, and even achieving goals and objectives, all components that allow someone to be more successful throughout their life. Throughout this course I hope to gain a greater understanding of historical and theoretical perspectives of human behavior and development (PSY 102 Course Syllabus, 2018, pg 2).

Various games are activities that have been around since the beginning of time has evolved into a technology based forum for all ages called video games. Playing video games are beneficial, according to some studies they can develop cognitive skills, create social connections, and stimulate creativity.
Participating in this role play was much easier to handle. Especially when it comes down to me playing in character. I learned with the first set of role plays that I am good at getting assigned a role and playing it well. I like that the scenario was picked out and it was myself and partner responsibility to make the whole role play come together playing the roles of social workers. What we did first was sat down together to figure out the family in which we had.
