Pride. Pride is something that you can 't just force. Pride is something earned and worked for. Not just lazy work. It 's hard work, back breaking 72 hours a week hard. It 's not something you can just Leave at an office. This work follows you home, it makes you work countless nights away from your family. This is the work my “step” father does for his family, every week that I have known him. Before this happened though we had to clear and level the lot. Well the lot was mostly full of prickly ash and poison ivy. In “Pride,” Gilb conclude that we are all shaped by a strong sense of pride, so we should still be proud of ourself. However, in “Pride and Humility,” Tarrants conclude that pride is basically a sin and it’s the devil’s most effective and destructive tool.
