Reflection of listening Trouble: This paragraph llustrate some major problems our group encountered while transcrping the tutorial of a native speaker. First of all and also the biggest problem is lacking of new words. Even though we do study english, but this language is not our mother tounge so there are still many words we have not discovered yet. Shortage of new words makes us not understand some words she said. As a result, I could not transcript what she said because I completely don 't understand what that words are and. Secondly is all about the ending sound. : We have some problem with hearing the ending sound, specially the ending sound /t/, /d/, /p/, /t?/, to us, it really hard to know what we heard is what kind of sound. There are three benefits that we have. Firstly, we learn more new words. In the speech, because the expert use many new words that we have not known before consequently we have to search in the dictionary the new words. Fortunately, it is also the chance for us to learn and remeber more new words. After transcripting the tutorial, our vocabulary definitely could expand more and more. My language teacher encouraged to study more and more because it will always be the most important part of learning English. However, english vocabulary is boundless so we have to keep on studying hard and use some tips to handle it. Secondly, One more advantage is learning the talking style of native speaker. After hearing her speech, we study more about the way a native speaker talk. We are VietNammese and we study english from a VietNamese teacher, who is not a native speaker. As a result, we pronuced english in the wrong way from the first time and this make a foreign feel hard to understand what Vnmese talk while in a english conversation. Listening a native speaker talk and imitating it is the way to take our englissh to the next level. Finally, the most important thing after transcripting a tutorial is improving our listening skill. Firstly, Listen very carefully every single words and forcus 100% your mind on it because you might miss some hard words or abbreviation if you don 't pay enough attention. Secondly, try to hear again and again as much as possible because every single word will become more clearly after every single time hearing. Thirdly, predict unknown words. If we don 't know what the meaning if that word is, we try to search it on online dictionary and predict that words base on what we hear from the expert. This way might be a little bit vague, but to me it suceeds so many times that I can not count. Finally, Practise listening as many as possible. I have heard this video for about nearly 20 times to get average result and the product comes out become better and better in time.
