Learning is a rich and complex process where individuals gather different knowledge for their own use. Every individual is responsible for the use they give the knowledge acquired, therefore learning goes far beyond from the barriers of schools, institutions and even family. Today, I will generally describe educational approaches commonly used in colleges and universities. I will be talking specifically about self-direct learning, intrinsically motivated and active learners, which are important concepts to know.
In my opinion, one of the most essential aspects which characterize a self-directed learner is the fact that this type of learners act because there is a need to survive. When I mean “survive” I refer to this term as the act of learning

I truly believe that reading will give me the necessary knowledge to achieve my goal, however I will try to follow this path my eliminating and facing my fears, simplifying things for an easier understanding and redefining failure to actually be persistent and when I get my goal I will be humble and look back to what I have achieve. However, when I get to the end of my journey I want to look back and have a clear view of my path, for this reason my steps need to be measurable so I track my success, and if at the middle of the journey I see something is not working I must change it in order to achieve my goal.

They also appear to enjoy learning the content due to their involvement. The goal of this activity was to build students reading skills by working them through the subject and allowing them to discuss amongst each other any information that relates to the subject of the reading. It is also intended to help the students think as they read. This helped enable the students understand the subject of the reading, offer their own insight, and identify words more easily. While you are reading this text now certain parts of your brain are working in order to make you understand it. The question is how can few black marks on a paper make sounds, words and meanings? Sebastian Wren describes the reading process as process which is similar to the process when you hear somebody speaking. The same parts of the brain are active in these two processes. He says that the outer surface of the brain which is called neocortex is responsible for the reading process.
In order for a student to become a literate at something, initially a student must become the teacher of the subject. We must challenge our ways of learning, the ways of perceiving information by guiding the importance of being truthful for
Learning is a lifelong process. That’s the clear message, the great inventor, Alexander Graham Bell was passing across in the quote at the beginning of the chapter—that we must be unceasing in our quest for answers on questions about the world in which we live. No matter how old you are, life cannot be boring to you; if you possess an inquisitive mind. So, I earnestly ask:
“Once you learn to read, you will be forever free,” wrote Fredrick Douglass. Not only is this true to me but it is also inspirational. The means to learn, understand the world around you, or even communicate would not be possible if you couldn’t read. Reading opens up so many opportunities for everybody that learns to do it. Once you learn to read you have the means to succeed.
Self teaching can actually enhance a student's education. Learning from a teacher isn’t enough, a person will have to go out and discover what they do not
As I explore my experiences with literacy my most vivid memory comes from a very late age. While most people draw their memories with reading, writing from a young age, I get mine from my eighth grade year. As a student up until this point I had done just enough to get through the courses and move on to the next year. My eighth grade year seemed to be extremely challenging, and this was due to various factors whether it be the demographics of my school since I was one of three white people in my grade, or my home life where I was adjusting to a new house with a new step mom, but my English teacher had spent the whole year causing me a great deal of agony. Every paper I turned in, I failed, and every effort I made to step up my writing was not

Everywhere I go I have to comprehend text: a label on a package at the grocery store, a sign on the highway, a message on my cell phone, or a chapter in a book. Thus, reading plays a significant role in my life. Growing up I used to struggle when it comes to reading. I could not comprehend what the writer is saying in their text, so I would try to read it over and over again so that I could understand what I was reading. Therefore, my grandmother started to teach me how to read and understand what I am reading.
During my elementary years, I don’t recall being interested in reading, but I do remember the first time I fell in love with it. I was in my 7th-grade reading class. I just completed a quiz when my teacher realized that I had nothing to do after. She offered me a book that I will remember for the rest of my life because it is the book that basically started my reading journey. It was called Tears of a Tiger by Sharon Draper, I loved the book so much that I read the whole entire series.
