My most recent small group experience was at the beginning of my new job working for Capital One. I was in training to become a fraud account supervisor. Within training my trainer instructed our class to present a product to market towards consumers. First, he split our class into four groups and explained that the objective was to persuade him to purchase our products. Then, my teammates and I came up with the idea to sell custom designed cupcakes. The name of or product was called Cutie Cupcakes. The experience overall was great because I am at a place in my life where I am opened minded to other people ideas and their input on any subject or topic. All in all, the experience didn’t turn sour at any point so I am just happy my group members
1. Provide a brief summary (in your own words) of the company (i.e., history of the company). Capital One, which is headquartered in McLean, Virginia, was founded in 1988 by Mr. Richard D. Fairbank. He wanted to bring information, testing, technology, and amazing people to the team. So, that they could work together to bring financial products straight to consumers that had been customized.
“Tell me the story of my life as you know it,” I asked my dad knowing that I needed as much as I could get from him. Of course, against my dismay, he started with, “Chase Barclay was born in Houston, Texas on a warm humid day in January 2002.” “I need more information, some really deep stuff,” I said in a rather upset tone since I thought he understood what I was doing with what he said. “Chase 's middle name, Woodrow, is from his grandfather, who was named for President Woodrow Wilson. From the start, we knew Chase was very intelligent.
Five years ago, I worked for Publix Supermarket, and I lived in Warner Robins Georgia. This next weekend was inventory time and the entire store was to be counted by Monday morning. Nobody was pleased about offering up their weekend for inventory. The stores morale was extremely low, and no one wanted to be counting inventory all weekend. Our supervisor decided to offer each one a chance to demonstrate how effective they could work as a team.
Teamwork is also seen in my schooling. I’ve gone to schools that use group work as a common educational tool. For example,
I believe I should be chosen becuase I will bring a hard working persona, a great can-do attitude, and willing to take on any task. I am bilingual, so I can help assist our non-english speakers and I believe I have skills to persuade future customers to be part of Capital One. I am a very dedicated person who tries to always be the best as I can, meaning helping not only myself, to grow, but everyone around me. I strive to achieve many things and take my education seriously. I’ve always been in Honors classes and get good grades, currently I have a GPA of 3.4 but am striving to better myself and get a 4.0.
A time when I had to act as a team with others was in the beginning of my freshman year. I was just about out of middle school and scared of a new beginning. I was coming to a new school and I needed to make friends because my old ones had gone to different high schools. It was the 3rd week of school and my biology teacher arranged a group project so that her students would get to know each other, I was partnered up with two other girls that were complete strangers to me.
For this outcome I have two projects that I believe fit the points in a good way. Both of the projects I had to work in a group and be able to clearly and effectively get my ideas out as well as understand the others thoughts and ideas. These projects both involve working well in a team setting and being able to get to the common goal and being able to work well with one another. The two projects I have picked are my group Archetype project and then the group or class discussion.
We did interviews and research on how to get the groups to interact with each other. We came up with the solution of have more student events, so they could mingle and make friends. Describe a time when you worked in a small group. What was particularly good about that group?
Throughout my whole life, the California Academy of Sciences has served as a source of inspiration. I really appreciate how the Academy and its staff are extremely dedicated to science and try their absolute best to help educate and motivate the public. I also appreciate that the Academy frequently updates its exhibits to bring in fresh scientific material to keep the public interested. The Academy has also fueled my interest in science from a young age. I used to go to the old Academy in Golden Gate Park before it was renovated and I was fascinated by the dinosaur exhibits that were displayed.
My assignment for the writing 101 group project was to present how to conduct an interview. The information for this presentation came from The Curious Researcher by Bruce Ballinger. My group consisted of five people, we all would present this topic together. Knowing that we had a big group for a relatively small presentation, we had to divide the groups roles up very evenly so everyone could participate. This was the first thing we did as a group.
My group was Math: I teach them their numbers, how to count, and add and subtract. My team members work together to help the little kids be ready for big school. Their accomplishments at CMDS are to believe that everyone is a creation of God-a unique expression of His will. The teachers, parents, and students are faithful to the task of helping each other develop to his or her full potential. My team and I, teach the younger two-years-old the basic of life learn lessons.
Technology has made banking more accessible and convenient. Consumers can now access their accounts and complete transactions online or through mobile apps, which saves time and reduces the need to visit a bank branch. Additionally, new technologies like mobile check deposit and digital wallets have made it easier to deposit checks and make payments. However, technology has also increased the risk of fraud and cyber attacks. Chase Bank is one of the largest banks in the US and has been at the forefront of using technology to improve the banking experience for consumers.
Groupthink was a very interesting aspect that I use in my day-to-day. This theory is a phenomenon where people desire consensus within a group. Often than not, people will disregard their own opinion
My small group experience was back in Secondary School where I was part of my school’s National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC) Cadet Leaders’ committee. The group lasted for approximately two years. Within the two years, we have meetings every fortnightly. This committee is a task group in which all members worked together to carry out activities for the school’s NPCC unit. The Cadet Leaders’ committee comprises of 10 members.
this made me gain a strong relationship between me and my group mates, making us more comfortable to be around each other and learn from one another. Another way my group enhanced my social experience is by paying compliments to the ideas that I have given out which benefits the whole group and this makes me feel because the ideas I have given out have helped them in their work. My group members enhanced my learning experiences in many different ways, by seeing the members in my group being motivated it made me realise that I need to be on their level of work as well in order to pass exams or coursework. Furthermore, another way my group enhanced my learning experience is by them listening to what I have to say when I don’t understand a question or a task. Lastly, my group members would create mind maps and system diagrams in group meetings and then write every member ideas on the paper then we would go through each idea and debate whether if those ideas that are implemented are good enough to be put into the finals of our
