It is necessary in the life of an entrepreneur to reflect on his/her entrepreneurial journey as that reveals the areas to improve in order to attain excellence. In this regard, this piece seeks to offer a nonjudgmental scrutiny of my short yet insightful experience as a co-founder of Cymicure – a team whose mission is to make the availability of medication easily accessible and the search for medicines hustle-free.
The team is made up of five result-oriented college students, four of whom are Business students and the other Management Information System's student. The team’s strength lies in the fact that its members are generally result-oriented. The team’s charter stipulates that we set targets before the performance of any task. This ensures that we are always focused on the “now” – what must we do now, to achieve the set goals. This mindset, despite it being useful in getting work done, for instance, helping us in acquiring our earlyvangelists (Nyaho Hospital, Healthnet, and Airport Women Hospital) on time, exposes our weakness of paying less attention to our

We, the members of Cymicure, have constantly put in maximum efforts in securing our innovators. During pitches in class, however, our communication was not coming out clearly and thus we lost grades (which in the real world might have been investors). This is how important communication is to any business. Further, we continuously desired to be better. We were prepared to turn our weaknesses into strengths – thus, able to impress the pharmacy manager at Nyaho so much, he was interested in becoming an innovator. Lastly, a team can go far if they could leverage on members strength and direct them toward achieving the set
The focus of most team building endeavours is to bring out the best within the team so as to ensure
The team is divided into groups based on both ability and location. This presents challenges to the team. Robbins and Judge state that “a team’s performance depends in part on the knowledge, skills, and abilities of individual members”. (Robbins and Judge, 2017) The abilities and goals of a 5-year-old just starting out vary greatly from the senior in high school that is trying to earn a college scholarship.
I agree with you Carmesha, I looked into to both websites and mainly men of Caucasian and African American descent were represented. I was surprised to see the lack of representation of other ethnic groups and women. Also, there was no older and disabled pictured on the website at all that I could find. I was surprised by this because we all wear shoes and I thought it would have every group represented.
Before reading “Nickel and Dimed: On (NOT) Getting by in America”, my perception of blue collar Americans is much different. I had figured that blue collared workers in lower paying jobs were not very hard working people, and that they still made enough money to have decent living conditions. Before reading Nickel and Dimed I thought that if you had a job and were not making enough to get by that you were probably a lazy person. Reading Nickel and Dimed really opened my eyes to the quality of life workers in these jobs have made me realize that you can be employed at a Walmart or as a hotel maid like Barbara Ehrenreich was and still be living in poverty. I learned pretty early into Nickel and Dimed that only having one job at this level of jobs
I learned about Occidental from my family, my cousin Brian Smith is the offensive coordinator for Oxy's football team and his wife Liane Smith works for Oxy as well. When I visited Oxy I was able to experience the school for what it really is, an amazing community. Everyone I talked to, students and staff, were very friendly and made me feel right at home. I was able to attend the homecoming barbecue and football game and it really left me with a great feeling about the school. My main interest in Occidental is that it is a liberal arts school.
This paper is a case study reflection that needs to be applied and underpin the steps of safe prescribing, ethics, responsibility and legal of prescribing with respect to standards of Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). In this regard, I will follow the Driscoll (1994) Model of reflection, which is based on three questions that explains experiences, differences that are made, significance, and actions to continue professional development with respect to learning. A young, 27-year-old, co-founder of the frozen smoothie kit company PACK’D, Luke Johnstone, was named young entrepreneur of the year in 2016 (“From Freezing Shed to Frozen Drinks Rise of the Smoothie Operator” par. 1). Like the Woodstock entrepreneurs, Johnstone quit his job to start his business, but he was not lucky enough for his dream to happen in just a short nine months like the other four men, his took two years of living in a shed in the back of his parents garden (“From Freezing Shed to Frozen Drinks Rise of the Smoothie Operator” par. 4). Another young entrepreneur, like the Woodstock entrepreneurs, is high school sophomore, Natalie Abbott. Abbott turned her 4-H project into her business, The West Hill Honey Company, where she sells honey and lip balm(“Chi-Hi Student Wins State Business Award” par. 1). Although Abbott is younger than the Woodstock entrepreneurs, they are alike because she did not work alone, she had help of her mother and father, just as the four men had the help of each other (“Chi-Hi Student Wins State Business Award” par. 1).
INTRODUCTION The word ‘team’ can be defined as a group of people working together towards a common goal. A team also generally is known as a group of people with different skills and different tasks, who works together on a common project, services, or goal. Then, the important thing in teamwork is ‘collaboration’, which is the act of working effectively with others to achieve a common goal. Collaboration acts as the lifeblood in the team, even the team is not large enough, but the collaboration is required.
In essence, teamwork can be defined as a group of people working in the same direction and for a common purpose. Teamwork requires individuals be a team player and to be able to work well with others; after all, there is no “I” in “Team”! As with any endeavour, we faced some initial setbacks. With this being our first college team assignment, we were all treading on unfamiliar territory.
Introduction Team leadership encompasses many things. It may seem like a simple and small task, but in a real sense, it is complex and comes with responsibilities, and commonly, it determines the success of any team or a group. However, the value of teamwork should not be overemphasized considering that all organizations need individuals and personnel who are willing to share ideas, listen to others and contribute to the problem solving of any given group or a company. Team leaders should have the ability, authority, and power to analyze data and information with a team of people with a common aim and objective as well as issues. The leader should understand the dynamic patterns, the connections and relations between paramount factors in these objectives, aims and issues that help in the analysis process.
For example, we might have to run more in practices, in games the opponent may score, or a teammate could get hurt. Having the skill of communication, is the first step in teamwork. Being a group of individual players, a sense of unity has to be formed. A team needs to work together to achieve a common goal. A quote from
In any facet of life, whether it is in a relationship, at work, or in school; teamwork plays a critical role in conflict resolution and inevitably success. William James once said, “A chain is no stronger than its weakest link, and life is after all a chain”, regardless of the fact that this notion may hold true for many circumstances in life, it especially holds true with respect to a sports team. From football, to basketball and even soccer, the might of a team working together determines the outcome of any given circumstance. In most cases, there will always be difficult team members, and for the sake of argument, such members are deemed the “weakest” link of a team. Carron, Bray, and Eys (2002) have studied the power that adequate cohesion
Members of the team are mutually committed to the goals and to each other. This mutual commitment also creates joint accountability which creates a strong bond and a strong motivation to perform. Without purpose and goals you cannot build a team. The purpose must be worthwhile and create a sense of doing something important together. The goals must be challenging and specific so that each member can understand how they contribute to the success of the team.

However, Dr. Post faces many challenges including the question of how to distribute the products and the kind of partners that should be sought. Post faces some challenges such as the high production cost and the need to reduce the price from $330,000. The product is likely to introduce a major disruption in the status quo and may be received differently by established players in the industry. Post needs to determine the best way to communicate to the different players in the industry to enhance acceptance of the new product. This essay presents recommendations on the best
