1.1. My Values (Two to Three Major ones)
Responsibility has always been a key value I hold close to me. I believe in the importance of taking ownership of tasks I have been assigned to and to be committed to them. In all work (e.g. project work or CCAs) delegated to me, I will perform my duties to the best of my ability. Whether it is an individual or team work, I constantly seek to improve and add value to my/our work.
Everyone is unique in their own way and this includes their way of thinking. In situations of differing opinions, I will remain open-minded and respectful of others’ views. By doing so, I am able to better understand people.

In my prior tertiary institution, I was

Hence, leaving little or no time for the rest of my commitments. When such situations surface, I'll then tend to over-pressure myself over my remaining work and get stressed up easily. By attending the workshops, I'll gain professional advices on working efficiently whilst learning better control over my stress levels. During the campaigning period, the fear I have for juggling my time among all my commitments will be largely reduced.
Action #2 – When my mindset changes to become more positive, I am definite I will possess stronger believe in my abilities to carry out my presidency campaign. Additionally, the confidence I exude will be evident to my peers. Thus, when they are able to sense my confidence in my capabilities, they will naturally grow to be confident in me too. This will help me in obtaining greater support when running for presidency.
Action #3 – Gaining insights of my peers’ views will help me to understand their concerns an work towards weaving their interests with the club’s. Sarah Dessen used to say that “Accepting all the good and bad about someone is a great thing to aspire to. The hard part is actually doing it. (Dessen, 2013)” Similarly, Barbara Jordan, a leader of the Civil Rights Movement, said “We, as human beings, must be willing to accept people who are different from ourselves. (Jordan, 2016, 45)”
My attitude to team members and students is marked by respect and courtesy, and I am prepared to exchange viewpoint and ideas with all. Moreover, I enjoy sharing resources and gladly
How does the maxim "Nothing is at last sacred but the integrety of you own mind" by Emerson relate to The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail? First of all, this quote is says that nothing can help you but your mind. If you have the knowledge than you shouldn't be afraid to speak out and follow your own path instead of conforming to what society thinks and believes. Only you can have the strength to reach your full potential and doing what you believe is right. This quote reminds me of Thoreau, of how he never conformed to what society believes.
However, it is clear to me that I must work as a leader and manage many services for my community. It will be a benefit for me, my community,
My eyes automatically drifted to the tall bright palm tree that moved along with the rhythm of the wind. It’s leafs danced as they presented their welcome. The sun shined down and hugged me with warmth, giving my skin a tingling, but satisfying sensation. I had come from Virginia to California, the famous, constantly spoken of state, that finally reached my sight. The state presented its beautiful attributes to capture my wonder and mesmerization.
As a result of being in this position of leadership I have learned responsibility and leadership skills.
Loyalty, respect, self-less service and integrity are the values that map the life that I lead. When in consideration of
It is easy to doubt your abilities and it is immensely helpful to have understanding, relatable friends/coworkers to turn to. I hope to be just like the returning RAs my starting year: open-minded, optimistic, reliable, honest, and determined. Being mindful of the needs I had, and adjusting to theirs, is important to me. “Lead by example” is my favorite type of leadership, because I feel that it is so effective. It means to be confident in your own values and decisions to lead without having to worry about teaching to others orally.
1.1 Introduction In today’s environment, the ownership is on us, as an individual to take responsibility for our own development, rather than expecting our organization to do it for us. The question, which always ponders over mind is does my personal skills suits to today’s dynamic world? If not, how do I move forward? Hence, the starting point is to introspect, retrospect and do an evaluation through self-assessment tools in order to know myself, strengths and limitations and my ability to perform in dynamic roles in the business environment.
Core values of a person are characteristics that define that person. Everyone should know obviously what are our core values and why they have it. The values of a person are shaped throughout his life and suffer external influences from family, friends, instructors and the society in which that individual grow. As Gandhi once stated: “Your beliefs become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny.” My five most important personal core values are honesty, integrity, fairness, compassion and loyalty.
One of the hardest fought for attributes of a brand is knowing that customers consider that the brand has value. We learned in our lesson that perceived value is a key attribute towards selling a brand. Writing a value proposition and keeping it current could help these business leaders to determine and clarify the unique characteristics their business will need to identify to better market their brand. In this paper, I desire to convey what a value proposition is and how it can help leaders chart a successful course through changing times.
The two important values that I have learnt are the independence and the respect. I learnt these two values since my childhood. One of the values is the independence. Independence means that you can support yourself without owning or depending on yourself concerned with livelihood or studying. You can make decision of your life without being controlled by the others.
I have always hated writing about myself, and I always dreaded assignments in school where I had to describe myself. I always wanted to avoid doing these assignments because I did not want to sound narcissistic, or self-absorbed. I dislike people like that now, because I used to be one of those people. It took many lessons learned before I humbled myself; I am still learning to humble myself today with recent experiences I have had. Although I hate to write about myself, I have always liked to reflect on myself.
Values are principles that people hold important to them in life. As I gotten older my values have changed based on my experience, knowledge, and goals. Since I am in college and the field of social work forced me to open my eyes to different things and ideas I would 've never thought of. Five values that are important to me while I am on this journey of becoming a social worker is my education, positive energy, not judging people based on their past, a reflect and meditate on my life, and be a generous to other.
The question posed in the title, “Who am I?” is very simple but the answers are never so. What defines me as who I am as a person today are relatively my attitude, my personal values and beliefs to life that developed throughout my life. “Values are constructs that we hold as important and beliefs are constructs that we hold to be true (Collins & Chippendale, 1995)”. Meanwhile, attitudes are relatively lasting clusters of emotions, beliefs, and behavior tendencies directed towards specific ideas, people or objects (Baron & Byrne, 1984). Generally, my family members, friends and the experiences I had contribute to my sense of who I am and how I view the world.
