Reflection On Social Networking

The following reflective report is my reflection of what I have been through while doing this assignment. This includes what I have learned about social networking, what I have learned while conducting a survey on 30 students and finally what I learned from working in a group. After completing my research on social networking, mainly Facebook, I have come to realize the multiple ways in which students use these increasingly popular social networking sites for online networking. There are no doubt that lots of parents, and even teachers occasionally, express their displeasure at their child for using Facebook excessively. While working in a group, members are advised to jot down a learning journal or minutes of our discussion effectively. This allows them to keep track of their activities so they can complete the assignment in time. Besides that, students can also use the minutes to reflect on whether their action has been going as planned or not so they can think about ways to improve it. Minutes also help to keep in check the contributions of each member of the group so everyone can receive a fair share of work while at the same time no one would be burdened by too much work. I felt that this was necessary by referencing to the Lean Six Sigma researched by Pamfilie, Petcu and Draghici (2012) where the leader would divide the task accordingly to involve every single member in the organization so they are stimulated to contribute to bringing change to the whole organization thus giving them a sense of accomplishment. This can improve their leadership skill because they have to direct their task while speaking confidently so their members do not doubt the leader’s decision. A good leader should not be constantly second guessing their decisions so having self-confidence is the way to lead a group effectively. This also leads to the improvement of decision-making skill. By applying a few methods stated in the research by Lunenburg (2011) such as Devil’s Advocacy and the Nominal Group Technique, group members can agree on a decision fairly. Overall, I am confident with my teamwork skill which enables me to get along with the rest of my group members. Some minor arguments about different ideas between members are unavoidable, but teamwork skill can help to work everything out where all parties are satisfied. This has developed our critical thinking skills in addition to problem-solving skills as it requires us to think up a solution on the spot by analyzing the situation at hand and solve the matter by
