Personal Experience: Intragroup Conflict In Film Making

A conflict I have experienced a few months ago would be a work conflict between my boss and I. During the latent stage, I worked as an assistant to the director of a film company, however, this was no formal office work, and all the work was being done in the director’s home and sometimes via internet. On my first day, everything went well, we did a lot of work, we connected, I enjoyed getting the work done and my boss was impressed by the amount of knowledge and experience I had in the field without actually having qualifications within the field of film making. Although she had not discussed my salary or the hours I had to work since it was flexible, I thought to myself, we did a lot of work today, so next time we will surely discuss that. …show more content…

In the latent stage, on a specific day all the parts of a group project was split amongst all members and written down on a paper in which I kept. It was made clear that no one should copy and paste and everyone should do the citations accordingly for each of our parts. Everyone understood, a due date was agreed upon and we dismissed the meeting. Several weeks after, the due date arrived, I sent my part to all members weeks ago and I was awaiting everyone else’s part so I can put the entire project together. On the night of the due date, not one single member submitted their part. I kindly sent an email asking for their parts to be submitted the day after because I will not be doing the entire project myself. The day after I did not receive any emails either, so I waited until the next class to approach them. When the next class was in session, I asked the members why they did not submit and if they understood clearly what had to be done.
