-I believe we all teach one another in different ways. Though, I realized that I was passionate about teaching as a profession when I was assisting my cousins’ kids. I have always loved interacting with children from a young age. Thankfully, I have many children in my family under the age of 12 years. I have assisted them on various occasions with their homework. I remember clearly on one occasion, a 5-year-old boy, who was learning how to pronounce every day common words. He was struggle a lot after every second word. One of the vital qualities, I think is important for a teacher to have is patience; so, I told him close his eyes and take a few deep breathes and then made a game out of it. I tied each word to some visual form which he is familiar with. He was able to remember how to pronounce each word and what it means a lot better. I was very emotional and loved how happy and proud he was of himself and his achievement.
Teaching is a profession that I have the utmost admiration for and would love to continue to be a part of that vital and strong foundation of a child’s life.
-By being a passionate teacher, I think, that passion and excitement would be received by the students. Being positive and creating a welcoming, nurturing and supportive environment. By involving the students and boosting their confidence at every opportunity. I do not believe in forcing a student to learn, as that would not only limit the student’s potential but they may also develop a negative
Whatever the reasons of students’ learning difficulties are, one thing is sure: the solution proposed by Singleton would only make their struggle harder. In this particular case, failing students and “keeping them at one level until they did in time, one way or another, learn the material,” as suggested by Singleton, could only bring positive effects if it went hand-in-hand with the development of a comprehensive learning support
Teaching is a big part of me as I have taught many of my friends and other students. I have used my talent as an artist to give life to the words and diagram in the textbook. I have used my art to help people visualize abstract thinking and understand different concepts, especially when it comes to chemistry, biology, and physics. Through the art, I have tried to make a learning more of a fun and challenging by using the ideas of everyday objects. Because art has a more flexibility when it comes to how it is presented, I have tried to include my art and animation in different presentations.
So many times a student gets bored of school or isn’t motivated to go to school and do their homework. Also students are very shy and don’t like asking questions about what they are learning if they
Just seeing the book on the table brought frustration to my soul. She would watch me read it out loud and correct me for any mispronunciation I made and then make me repeat the sentence over and over again. The books I read had a lot of words that were being repeated and over time I was able to pronounce it right with a clear voice.
The decision to enter a profession that has the potential to affect hundreds of lives of children each year should not be taken lightly. One must make sure they are ready for the challenges and responsibilities as well as the joys of humour entering the profession” (Hembree, 2013). Some actions that might ensure that we don’t lose sight of the commitments that we once made as new educators entering the profession would be to maintain an emotional commitment and have a lot of patience. “Great teachers’ emotionally commit to their subject matter and students daily. Teaching can feel incredibly rewarding when things go well
My Reflection of Real Talk for Real Teachers Real Talk for Real Teachers written by Rafe Esquith has been thought provoking as well as entertaining to read. I have learned a great deal from reading this book and I hope to implement a few of his ways in my future classroom. I can relate too many of the stories that have been told in this book because this is real life in a school environment. I would like to break my summary down chapter by chapter.
This job really taught me about the importance of children having a routine to follow as well as the impact teachers can have on a child’s life. After my first year in college, I realized that I wanted to gain more experience with children of all ages. Shortly after,
They take the time to know their students and know them well. They appreciate what attributes to each child’s story and take ownership of their role in the child’s life for that school year. I feel that I have the skills and attributes of an outstanding teacher because of the pride I take in the love and support I show my students and families. I know teachers have the power to make a lasting difference and I start every year with that mindset.
All skills apart from the academic ones which are important to being a good teacher and demonstrates my willingness to go the extra mile. Studying and working in education has shown me that it is a challenging and rewarding career, but I believe my track record of dedication and hard work in both elements suggests that I can meet its demands. My commitment to providing a first-rate education for any child has seen me strive to gain as many additionally useful skills as
I am pursing a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I am passionate about education and excited to share the joy of learning with students. The perspective of wonder and sense of excitement that children bring into education motivates me daily. Teaching can leave a lasting impression in a child’s life and offers a special opportunity to shape the bright young minds of future generations. While many professions can be impactful, I believe the qualities of the person in the career position to be the most influential.
During the two day observations, I had the opportunity to experience how Mrs. Carbone teaches listening, speaking, & pronunciation by incorporating different approaches. During my first observation, the class was a follow up class designed to promote listening skills and oral language development. Mrs. Carbone explained that the class
This essay will explained the kind of teacher professional identity promoted by SACE and COTEP under the pillars of curriculum 2005 and NQF forming part of the white paper 1995 in redefining identity and difference in the education system after 1994 and it will also discuss how this identity did not and could not match the realities on the ground. Professionalism is the personal effort to act in a job that reveals fitting attitudes, behaviors and practices of the job. In teaching these attitudes may be: “having specialized knowledge which is the content knowledge and the ability to teach were teachers gain this on a lengthy period of higher education which is a four years to obtain the B ed degree were in the lengthy period teachers in the making learn to focus client interest maintaining a high level of responsibility learning and obtaining the ethical code of conduct” (SAIDE, 2010). By producing good quality results a teacher will be showing professional skills. Professionals require considerable freedom or autonomy to make judgments because they have to draw on knowledge based skills It is also showing that you believe in being professionally autonomous while accountable to the standards of you practice by having professional control over the credentials and the entry to teaching” ( SAIDE, 2010).
I want to teach so that I can create an inclusive classroom environment that is perfect for learning. My goal is to get students excited to learn. I will accommodate to all of my students according to their individual needs. I aspire to be a teacher who respects their students and gets respect back.
Being a teacher is a journey that has much to do with learning about yourself and being aware that what happens in your classroom reflects only on how are you with yourself. Teachers are not conscious that they project into students, and that affects how things go in the classroom. I believe the first characteristic of a good teacher is that he/ she is always willing to analyze his/her teaching performance. Second the teacher is humble enough to receive input about the development and application of techniques, learning from it and improving.
I believe that a teacher’s role is to prepare an environment where children can fully realize their potential
