Opening my reflection paper, I want to agree with the author’s words and put stress that “Propaganda works best with an uncritical audience. People are bamboozled mainly because they don’t recognize propaganda when they see it.” I would not be afraid to say that people are zombified, and take no attempt to recognize and destroy propaganda. Society admits propaganda as truth and denies real truth naming it propaganda.

And it is testimonial. Donna Woolfolk Cross characterizes it as an advantage of “having some loved or respected person who give a statement of support (testimonial) for a given product or idea”. Shortly saying, testimonials are quotations to support or reject action, candidate, idea or program. Public follows authority itself, rather than its argumentation. Propagandists or promoters merely use the name of a respected man. It is a wide practice to use celebrity to promote some brand, a person becomes a face of the company, and presents himself in all commercial ads on TV and banners. The politician also do not neglect celebrities endorsement. This is done in an effort to cause the public to accept the authority's opinions and take his beliefs as its own. WWII Propaganda The first poster that I designed was WWII American propaganda. In order to get a clear understanding of what the mindset was at time I looked at actual posters designed at that time. Many were about conservation of resources or war bonds. They depicted soldiers, children, and everyday people.
“Propaganda is a monologue that is not looking for an answer, but an echo,” (W. H. Auden). World War II, like many other wars, was influenced by myriad of different variables. One variable that echoed throughout America was propaganda. Propaganda was a major influence in the rally for overall support in America during World War II. The propaganda’s intentions in World War II can be broken down into three major categories: war efforts, Anti-German and Anti-Japanese backing, and homefront endeavors.
Throughout history, propaganda was used as a powerful means of gaining control over the many by a few, employing methods that present a broad field of reasearch to the day. The use of special phrases, the rigurous order or variation of the words, as well as various voice tonalities were analysed by the scientific comunity in order to understand the way propaganda affects society. In Lasswell 's World Revolutionary propaganda, the author classifies the
In the early 1900’s European countries began competing and with that they were also building strong army’s and navy’s. After a while, the United States got involved and were in need of the people’s support. It took convincing but once people got on board with the idea of going to war, war fever in the United States was at an all-time high. The United Nations had not yet been established which meant conflicts were not getting resolved. This was unlike anything the U.S. had done before.

People such as celebrities, have a higher influence on people and their decision making on products, which is why many companies hire well-known celebrities to promote their products in the media. The statistics for how much a celebrity influences its fans varies throughout the article, depending on what exactly they endorse. The article had some very interesting key points about celebrities also having a negative impact on product endorsement, mentioning that traditional brand promotion without celebrities had more of a positive influence.
Propaganda; information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. Propaganda is a very manipulative method of controlling the audience's attitudes. In the novel 1984, by George Orwell, Winston Smith is a member of the outer party in the nation of Oceania. Winston, along with all the other citizens of Oceania, are constantly being watched by the Party through telescreens. Oceania is ruled by an omniscient leader only known as Big Brother, a powerful faceless figure who is feared by all of Oceania.
