This would allow me to complete much more work in a day. When I do start my work I tend to carry on for a few hours without a break and then I will tend to get bored and will leave my work do something else that interests me more. So what I need to do is implement short little breaks into my daily routine so I do not get bored and can carry on with my work for longer. What I find hard is to say is no. I constantly have friends or cousins who are asking me to do things with them whether it is to go cinemas, out to eat, play football or even go clubbing I find it hard to say no. Job Prioritisation – A list of activities needed to complete in order of relevance, priority and importance. It sets out realistic timeframes and creates a broader understanding of what would have the most consequence if not completed in the allocated timeframe. It recommends what has to be completed first for the greatest efficiency in the workplace, taking goals and final deadlines into account. The biggest and more time consuming tasks should be prioritised first, managing the smaller tasks for possible delegation. This year I set out to improve this very important skill. Time management is a skill that will be important all throughout your life. In the past I use to just barely turn my assignments in by the deadline or even sometimes past it. I used a planner and reminders on my phone to help me with this. I was tired of always feeling rushed to finish assignments or even chores around my house that I googled ways to improve on not being distracted which contributed to my time management.
Returning to college has been an exciting and terrifying decision for me. My husband has encouraged me for 1-2 years, but my fear of failure overwhelmed me and kept me from pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree. I wasn’t even sure what I wanted to pursue. I’m now on this journey and ready for whatever it is that God has planned for me. I have worked hard encouraged my three kids as they transitioned their way through elementary school through middle school and on to high school and graduation.

One of the most respectable traits anyone can have, civilian or soldier can have is time management. When you report for duty, or be on time for your date, time management should be a must. I learned in this activity how crucial time management skills will be to my ability to complete this course successfully. The analysis from the questionnaire (Table 2) as well as keeping a record of what activities I focus on for a couple of days, opened my eyes to a few areas of improvement. From the patterns observed I could see that most of my time was taken up by work and commitments as well as procrastination. Not being able to juggle theses successful led to irritation and was unproductive. Research suggests that managing ones emotions, being self-aware and self-motivate can be factors for success for a student (Allan, 2009).

What I mean by specific is that it is time-specific and nature-specific. In addition, I have always heard of the term SMART but I did not give it my attention because I thought it would be just like many other useless methods of time management. However, the way this lecture illustrated this term or method is very unique and has helped me in implementing this method in my daily life. For instance, a goal should be time-based, for years I used to set goals or tasks and never put a deadline or timeframe, so I keep procrastinating until I lose track of time and eventually finishing the task in as imperfect way or not finishing it at all.
