The comments from my instructor, the online material, my research, the online writing center and comments from other students in the discussion boards have helped me so much to improve my writing skills. In the writing process, the step that I feel I have improved a lot is editing, as I am constantly reading my writings and editing them as I finish them, over and over again before I publish them. The steps in the writing process that I like the most are finding a topic in the Pre-writing step and Drafting. I like having a lot of ideas floating around and think about which idea is the best and the most exciting topic to talk about. Drafting for me is pretty similar, as also my ideas are coming into my mind at no speed limit and I try to focus in one at the time, at that moment, I am not thinking about
I know that I can achieve all of the goals that I set for myself. However, in order to do this, I will need the tools offered in AP Language and Composition. I can demonstrate success in this course, and eventually will do the same in College. To summarize, I should be a member of the AP Language and Composition course because of my passion of reading, my hard work, and the massive benefits that I will experience. This class has been a dart on my board since I began high school.
Writing is an essential part of the day-to-day interaction in the academic community, so each it’s member should excel in this skill and follow the essential writing conventions. By being a part of Writing 39 B class, I have studied many important rules of the academic writing, which will help me to succeed in my future career. I believe that my academic texts have considerably improved during this course. I became an active member of the academic community with good and competent writing skills. My skills in work with sources, MLA format and argument have greatly improved, which one can see from my Portfolio, RA essay and RIP project.
I was able to read and understand everything that the professor had gave us. She was every helpful when needed and responded back every quickly. I truly did enjoy this semester. I also hope that everything I learn this semester will help me with my next course of classes next semester.
I can tell that my writing has gotten better since I started the class in January. I have learned a great deal about articles, prepositions, conjunctions, etc. I am so proud of myself and how far I have come. Although, I feel as if I have more to learn, but I am excited to learn those new techniques so my writing came become something truly magical. I cannot wait until next quarter to finish this class and watch my writing grow and blossom.
This paper has discussed my personal writing process which includes brainstorming, constructing a rough draft, revising, and creating a final draft. Depending on the required length of the paper, I try to set aside enough time to complete this writing process comfortably with minimal stress. This time allotment can be anywhere from thirty minutes every day for two or three days to an hour per day for more than a week. I use this process in nearly all forms of writing; it is an incredibly versatile, flexible process due to its simplicity and practicality. Writing is an enjoyable activity for me due to the fact that it allows for so much individuality and creativity; therefore, it rarely generates anxiety or boredom in my life, rather, it is more of an agreeable pass-time.
This class has given me much room to express myself creatively and gain more knowledge. I believe that through this past semester, my writing knowledge, and writing ability has grown significantly. I hope to continue growing my knowledge about writing throughout the rest of my days in school and the rest of my
With this, I became more aware of how to improve my writing. Tenth Grade was the first year I took the practice writing test; I got a perfect score and was awarded a gift card for having the most creative essay in my class. This showed me that I had grown and made me enjoy writing. We began to read and write prose analysis essays in my literature class and it polished my ability to expond myself. Using the “Says ,Does ,How ,So What” method enhanced my essays tremendously.
From the start, you have commented on my text stating that it “challenges the reader,” and that “you love [my] sentence style”. The feedback that you provided on my Personal Essay stayed intact throughout the semester, and was even more available in my Destination Essay. I had “interesting ideas” and “big moments” for the audience, according to you. Based on these comments, my self-awareness regarding my voice improved greatly in each assignment. I grew as a writer in the sense that I provided riveting topics and ideas for the reader each and every time; I felt that I engaged the audience well because I was able to switch up the mood occasionally.
This quarter has been a rollercoaster of emotions, mostly good, and I look forward to what next quarter brings. Hopefully my brain can hold all this information, I feel like it grows 2 sizes every week! Thank you for such a wonderful first quarter, I really enjoyed your class and getting to know you!
Another step I took to improve my social confidence was by attending study sessions with fellow classmates where I met additional people. As I became acquainted with my fellow classmates, I felt more secure with myself. I even took the lead on group projects which turned out to be a rewarding experience. I learned that I needed to come out of my shell in order to make Bentonville my new home. Ultimately, I gained even more confidence in myself and ended up having a successful year, both academically and socially.
I think that I should be chosen for Link Crew because I am always able to help out, give directions to lost freshmen, influence them in a positive manner, and be a kind upperclassman. I get good grades, I’m in all honors classes, I participate in a sport year round, inside and outside of school. I am involved in Calling all Colors here at Mona Shores High School, which is a group about tolerance and accepting other, and teaching others at our school how to make everyone feel equally welcome. I plan to keep in touch with my 9th graders by doing little things for them through the year, like dropping off little items to their classes; just like I was given as a freshman. I plan to say hello in the hallways and let them all know on August 31st, for freshman orientation that if they every have any questions, that I am easy to get ahold of.
Throughout my past four years at Weddington High School, I am inspired by the impact my teachers have given me. I believe education is the greatest gift you can give to a person who is striving to make a difference. This is something that I have been interested in for several years. I am currently a teacher assistant for Mrs. Donna Nunn’s Microsoft Word and PowerPoint class that allows me to see how lesson plans are carried out in a classroom environment and I know that this experience has given me a stronger desire to become a teacher. During my freshman year of high school, Ms. Marisa DiFronzo made literature become a very engaging subject for me, not only by her way of teaching but also her ability to bring the class together as one.
However, I have mixed feelings; satisfaction of being able to complete the program, but at the same time, fears for the oncoming presentation event. 8. What do I feel proudest about regarding my learning activities during the last two weeks? I feel proudest about regarding my learning activities during the last two weeks of being able to find possible solutions for a better workflow of the PACU and to contribute with my participation to the promptly completion of the deliverables including the power point
English 10 Honors has been an invaluable learning experience filled with many opportunities to showcase knowledge and to learn new ideas. I began the year coming off a successful year in Honors English 9 where I learned important writing and reading comprehension skills. I feel this year I was successful with reading and interpreting text and I believe that I made big strides in my writing and in my command of the English language. In the beginning of the year I believe i had a strong enough command on English conventions but definitely with room for improvement. In my opinion, the assignments that most exemplified the assessment of English conventions, as well as reading and writing, were the Zeitoun and 1984 long compositions. Take for example my first sentence from the Zeitoun long comp, “Human nature is a fickle thing, no one person being perfect”.
