It’s the eve of my first PowerPoint presentation and I carefully flip through the slides and practice my performance with great care. Ultimately, I’ve put forty plus hours crafting my thoughts into what I deem pretty darn good. The fundamentals of PowerPoint do not come easy, but I persevere. Now, I design PowerPoints in my sleep, however in the late 90’s a massive mountain looms. Finally calling it a day and feeling exceptionally accomplished, I awaken early the next morning ready to conquer the library world I am contemplating as a fork in my career. Arriving at the ‘Technology in the Library’ class in the evening, absolutely prepared, I stand up to impart my new information, utterly confident…until suddenly, I was not. The opening two slides are a cinch and the third slide is, well, the third slide is a big fat…WHAT?? As my frozen face looks out at my classmates, I discover my PowerPoint has mysteriously disappeared from the screen. I swear it was there last night. Where could it go? Mortified, the instructor looks at me with a giant question mark, while bewilderment is on mine. …show more content…
Late in the fall of my fourth year at Country Meadows, a meeting is held in the library for eighth grade students who will be attending the new high school the following year. The woman leading the meeting walks to my desk, introduces herself and chats, looking around the library with great interest. Over the Christmas break, I receive a call from Karlene. Have I considered applying for the librarian position at the new high school opening in the fall? No, I had not. We talked about the possibility and end the conversation with me agreeing to give this opportunity some thought. Hmm…I think this calls for a T-Chart. Plusses and minuses later, with a knot in my stomach, the answer is clear. I apply and to my surprise, I am
Additionally, I am a qualified applicant because I stand for community service, knowledge, responsibility, and ethics. As a student that volunteered in order to give
Unit 5’s reading section covers the various features and tools available in Microsoft’s Powerpoint application (Gambrel, 2014). The first part I found helpful was the section that taught how to create a new presentation. This taught me several things about Powerpoint including how to add, delete, and organize slides. I have used Powerpoint in the past, but everything I know about it is self-taught, so it was good to have an actual training that covered everything from scratch.
I believe I have potential to be a staff member on itsJerryandHarry because even though I may seem immature at times I can be strict and authoritative when it is needed, for example when someone is being disrespectful in my teamspeak channel whether they are a friend or not I will usually ask them to refrain from being rude, but if they continue I will most likely kick them. I am good in difficult situations, and I am responsible and trustworthy. I am also hardworking and will put in my full effort to assist in the community. Extra comments
My name is Caleneigh Fonseca. I would appreciate being considered for NJHS because I will be better able to aid my community, schoolmates, and future. I would be a great candidate for the National Junior Honor society. I believe this because I am hard-working, great with people, helpful, open-minded, and stand for what I believe in. One of the reasons I believe I would be a significant candidate for this position is that I am hard-working.
On the other hand, I sensed that he was a little too excited for presentation and was speeding through his presentation to where some of us couldn’t write down as many notes as we wanted
I know I need to spent time to prepare myself, I will have to make sure my presentation is at the same level of my
I think that I should be chosen for Link Crew because I am always able to help out, give directions to lost freshmen, influence them in a positive manner, and be a kind upperclassman. I get good grades, I’m in all honors classes, I participate in a sport year round, inside and outside of school. I am involved in Calling all Colors here at Mona Shores High School, which is a group about tolerance and accepting other, and teaching others at our school how to make everyone feel equally welcome. I plan to keep in touch with my 9th graders by doing little things for them through the year, like dropping off little items to their classes; just like I was given as a freshman. I plan to say hello in the hallways and let them all know on August 31st, for freshman orientation that if they every have any questions, that I am easy to get ahold of.
You could improve your PowerPoint slides by using light backgrounds to highlight dark pictures rather than using dark purple background. Also, your speech would have been more effective if you could use large images on each slide.
Once accomplished, the next step is creating a presentation that does just what the idea should do. The presentation of both the speech and the visual effects
3.Choose one aspect of your presentation and tell me how you will work to improve it for your next presentation. Be concrete. Offer suggestions that you will use for improvement. I always get anxious before giving any speech or presentation. I may not maintain eye contact with the audience to cop up with my anxiety.
We depend too much on technology. There is no doubt about it. Many places of work are at a loss if their internet connection stops working. Many businesses and institutions are left high and dry if the internet or computer crashes. Every bit of information regarding business is entered into the computer.
Presentation 1 The first assignment was to prepare an informative speech about our personal experience. The time limit set was 3 minutes. No additional visual or printed material was required. The presentation, unfortunately, was delivered via WebEx platform, and not personally to the audience, which in my opinion has some negative impact on my performance.
SESSION 3: ORGANIZING CONTENT Session Objectives : – Identify the difference between informative and persuasive presentations. – Introduce a model for organizing an informative message that will help maximize impact. Total Time : 30 minutes Trainer Led Discussion : 30 minutes Faculty to put up slide 11 and say: • When you set out to do something, what ultimately determines your method of doing it? (Ideally, your end goal or objectives – the reason you’re doing the thing in the first place and what you intend to get out of it.) • When it comes to presentations, what are some of the potential objectives a presenter may have in mind?
