My discipline and studying habits are ones that I have picked up and tweaked in early high school and in the years since. I have learned what works best for and I am aware of the physical and mental space I need to be in to ensure that I get my work done in the best way I can. Taking this time to reflect on my self-discipline and commitment I have as a student will help me identify where I may need improvement and help me to learn more about myself as a student and as a leader.
For the end of this academic year of Winter 2018, I envision myself to have learned a vast new set of skills and applicable knowledge. At the moment, I am in a co-op position with PepsiCo and am also taking some courses to expand my professional skill set. While working in a professional environment in a leadership role, and taking courses such as this one, I am able to apply the material I have been leaning into my life almost right away. This allows me to learn the material quickly and understand it more thoroughly. Therefore, I envision myself to not only have a high academic standing at the end of this term but to have also had a successful work term, with help of the material I have been learning in this term. The results I am currently getting at the University of

I know myself well enough to know that if one thing starts to take over my time and get in the way of achieving other priorities, I will begin to resent it. My life is quite busy, but I have been able to organize myself in a way where I feel accomplished academically, professionally, socially and mentally. This has not always been the case and it took some personal reflection and discipline to see where the imbalance used to be and where I could improve. Once I found the balance and the sense of achievement that came with it, I became more motivated to continue what I was doing and to strive to find ways of being even more efficient in these
I've always been driven to do the best I can in every subject. When I was younger, I never really cared about homework or paying attention because I always thought that whatever the teacher was talking about wasn't going to be relevant to when i got older. Once I started middle school, that whole mindset changed. My mom was on my case about every single subject. Sixth grade was a struggle for me.
AVID is a program not intended for everyone. This program exposes you to a variety of skills and mastery for adolescents desiring to attend college. Avid focuses around organization, teamwork, and for you to critically think. These skills are new to many and are provenly beneficial, however these skills do not favor those that have already had these skills and are show casing their full potential. Therefore, Avid is not for me since it interferes with my academic courses, mastery of avid skills and would not be beneficial for me because I have gained much of the skills and would rather interfer than assist.
I go to vast lengths to schedule my life and manage my time effectively. I balance all my responsibilities
A comprehensive log will be kept for the first week to observe where I waste the most and the least amount of time. I will also keep daily and weekly to do list and continuously review my progress and reward myself for completed tasks. I will be able to apply these techniques and experience to future roles. Aim 2: Intergrate and identify knowledge gained from my studies to a practical working environment Strategies: • Research the company’s main goals • Identify relevant academic theories in the workplace; outcomes and ethics of the organisaion • Document the
I have always put my grades before anything else and it is imperative for me to always get my work done before anything. Given the past couple years, I have blossomed into an organized student while maintaining my 3.5 GPA. Despite hardships, I have always made the effort to get into focus, strap my armor on, and complete all my work. For many scholars, getting done what you need is almost a gift to oneself. Once you achieve your goals, you feel rewarded and even fulfilled.
Educational Self-Analysis As students the people who we surround ourselves with have a profound effect with our motivational level. Our surroundings can emotionally impact our life for the better or worse. By reading the article “Brainology” by Carol Dweck has also showed me the mindset I have and reflect on the way I view education. like most Parents, my Parents want to see me succeed in school since they did not have the chance to do so themselves.
1. My philosophy of leadership is about collaboration and teamwork. Respecting and treating everyone the same, is key to supporting a good team atmosphere. I believe when a leader puts effort and care into assisting others, then their peers and followers will naturally want to support them. It is also important for a leader to recognize, that advocacy must never become so important that the critical elements of leadership are neglected (e.g. policy enforcement, command support, etc...).
1.1 Introduction In today’s environment, the ownership is on us, as an individual to take responsibility for our own development, rather than expecting our organization to do it for us. The question, which always ponders over mind is does my personal skills suits to today’s dynamic world? If not, how do I move forward? Hence, the starting point is to introspect, retrospect and do an evaluation through self-assessment tools in order to know myself, strengths and limitations and my ability to perform in dynamic roles in the business environment.
I learned in this activity how crucial time management skills will be to my ability to complete this course successfully. The analysis from the questionnaire (Table 2) as well as keeping a record of what activities I focus on for a couple of days, opened my eyes to a few areas of improvement. From the patterns observed I could see that most of my time was taken up by work and commitments as well as procrastination. Not being able to juggle theses successful led to irritation and was unproductive. Research suggests that managing ones emotions, being self-aware and self-motivate can be factors for success for a student (Allan, 2009).
Then suddenly you’re down to the wire and your brain experiences a deluge of stress and information overload. This only causes a drain on your energy, causing you to lose sight of the task at hand. Enjoy the Ride It isn’t all fun and games, but take note of where you stumble or your motivation dips- you can then come up with a solution to prevent that from becoming an issue again. You may see a pattern emerge, which allows you to arrange your schedule as required.
Self-sabotaging is most often a subconscious behavior, and some of the worst perpetrators have absolutely no idea what they're doing. What is self-sabotage? Any behavior, attitude or talk, self-directed or external, that makes you an obstacle to your own goals. What does self-sabotage look like? It comes in many forms, but the common theme is a person who says they want one thing and lives as if they want another.
Evolve into Having Self-Awareness Being self-aware simply means that you have a keen understanding of your own personality. That includes your positive and negative traits, your thoughts and beliefs, your feelings, and your inspiration. It would be easier for you to understand others when you are self-aware. You will also be able to tell how they see you in return. Most people believe that they have a good sense of self-awareness, but it would be best to check at a comparative scale to see where you fall on it in contrast with others.
I have always hated writing about myself, and I always dreaded assignments in school where I had to describe myself. I always wanted to avoid doing these assignments because I did not want to sound narcissistic, or self-absorbed. I dislike people like that now, because I used to be one of those people. It took many lessons learned before I humbled myself; I am still learning to humble myself today with recent experiences I have had. Although I hate to write about myself, I have always liked to reflect on myself.
Most people want to improve themselves in some way, whether it is to lose weight or give up smoking or increase their confidence. Self-improvement is something that we carry out over a life time, but it is a task that can require a lot of motivation. Keeping your motivation levels up and steady can be a job in itself. In order to achieve the motivation required for self-improvement, we need to look at the three keys that will help us succeed in our goals. 1) INSPIRATION
