The role of a teacher is a pillar in society and not just for teachers, also for the students, the institutions and the families, as an open system; education is a community that is directly affected by the environment and the surroundings. I think that our purpose as critical educators is to show commitment with the classroom, the students, the institution, and of course with the community and the country, we are taking about social responsibility.
According to dictionary.cambridge.org (n.d.) the definition of social responsibility is: “the practice of producing goods and services in a way that is not harmful to society or the environment”. If we analyze this definition, in our case, we should prepared and based our classes on relevant social contents, if we want to teach with responsibility, we must focus on an appropriate critical thinking, this can give us the authority and influence of transforming, giving to our teaching role a significant purpose, based on ethical, free, active and moral teaching.
In my case, I studied another major, business administration, and today I work on that; as a human resources manager, with the time I decided to give me the opportunity to try something new and different; in this new journey I have learned that this major of teaching English is …show more content…

First, we have the principle of keeping an open mind, this is really common nowadays, when we analyze complex topics such as religious or politics; we must be balanced and keep a neutral opinion.
