The role of a teacher is a pillar in society and not just for teachers, also for the students, the institutions and the families, as an open system; education is a community that is directly affected by the environment and the surroundings. I think that our purpose as critical educators is to show commitment with the classroom, the students, the institution, and of course with the community and the country, we are taking about social responsibility.
According to dictionary.cambridge.org (n.d.) the definition of social responsibility is: “the practice of producing goods and services in a way that is not harmful to society or the environment”. If we analyze this definition, in our case, we should prepared and based our classes on relevant social contents, if we want to teach with responsibility, we must focus on an appropriate critical thinking, this can give us the authority and influence of transforming, giving to our teaching role a significant purpose, based on ethical, free, active and moral teaching.
In my case, I studied another major, business administration, and today I work on that; as a human resources manager, with the time I decided to give me the opportunity to try something new and different; in this new journey I have learned that this major of teaching English is

First, we have the principle of keeping an open mind, this is really common nowadays, when we analyze complex topics such as religious or politics; we must be balanced and keep a neutral opinion. Regarding ldonline.org, (n.d): “The best teachers are the ones who teach to the whole child. Their vision of education is not limited to the tangibles of academic achievement but encompasses daily doses of compassion, flexibility, communication, humor, imagination, and the willingness to be open
Understand the generally accepted goals of schools and how they contribute to the socialization of children and youth. The schools roles in the socialization of children and youth include academic success, workforce readiness, citizenship, social development, and cultural transmission. Academic achievement represents the school’s ability to provide their students with a strong academic background. Workforce readiness prepares the students to contribute to the economic growth of the nation by providing them with professionalism, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Citizenship teaches the students the virtues of life such as dignity, care, fairness, justice, etc.
As stated previously, I do my part in society by trying to help out as much as possible and play my role properly. I also have been a part of many clubs and activities, something else I have claimed and explained earlier on in this essay. In fifth grade I was in Builders Club, a club where you can make cards for veterans or people who very unfortunately have an illness. In sixth grade I was in S.A.V.E. Club. This is a club all about the environment where we would supply all teachers with a recycling bin in their classrooms and empty them each week, spread awareness for the environment and what we as a society can do to protect it, held fundraisers, donated food and other items to homeless shelters and different charities, cleaned up the school, fixed and grew the school garden, and more.
Social responsibility is the belief that people in society have a duty, or obligation, to make decisions that will help the society in a positive way, or make it excel. We can be socially responsible by giving to the community through things such as volunteering to do work or donating. Social responsibility is actively participating in the community on moral and ethical standards. When people are socially irresponsible, they are acting against the rest of society. Socially irresponsible groups are thinking about their own needs and desires instead of the needs and desires of the community.
Walden University’s College of Education has a similar vision. In the vision, Walden is “commited to the pursuit of positive social change through education.” The reason I am pursuing this degree is so that my students can do the same thing that Walden is teaching it’s students to do. All of the social activists, presidents and CEO’s in this world learned what they know from a teacher. They are able to impact the world, because they were given the tools to do so.
I came into my first college writing class feeling prepared thanks to you and your investment in me as a student in your AP Lang class. I developed as a writer more than I ever had in your class, and it definitely helped me in my college writing class this semester. I already knew how important it was to revise and continuously critically think about my writing, as well as the importance of multiple drafts and peer review. My English 110 class this semester was very similar to yours because we also did multiple drafts where I could revise my paper as many times as needed. The big difference was that the focus was on different genres and how to appeal to those, which was something new compared to my high school English courses.
BEHS 210 Week 1 DB A very pressing social matter truly near and dear to my heart is the teacher shortage of 2023. Every time I think about this topic, my mind always questions, “at what point exactly did American run out of professional classroom teachers?” To help find an answer to my question, I used the learning resource’s definition of social science and what it does to help better our society. To breakdown the meaning behind the terminology, “social science is, in its broadest sense, the study of society and the manner in which people behave and influence the world around us (“What is Social Science?, n.d.”).”
This semester has been an ongoing challenge for me but has been an enjoyable one and I have not been presented with any impossible tasks. I have never been much of a writer, and during the course of this semester, I 've struggled to meet length requirements on the assigned essays. However, I do understand that not everyone is an excellent writer or even has to enjoy writing to get a good grade in this 1A class. From the start, with the first essay, I pushed myself to do my best and looked to multiple outlets to polish my writing, such as the online tutor, the writing center, the internet and the writer 's handbook.
I have always found writing hard but now I enjoy it more. I 'm not going to lie and say that it 's easy for me because it 's hard. I get lost with my thoughts a lot. What I say sounds way better then when I put it down on a paper. I have been wanting to write a small book of something.
Moreover, I will try to expand on the roles that many social actors, such as teachers, schools and other professionals, play towards the implementation of social justice within education systems, whilst working along other agencies, in order to ensure that all pupils enrolled in schools all around the world are provided with the best opportunities and chances necessary
Writing essays and other types of posts has always been difficult for me. But, throughout this composition class, I have learned many interesting and new things about the different types of writing styles. When starting this class, I considered myself to be an average writer with run-of-the-mill vocabulary, ordinary sentence structure and typical finished products. This class has helped me greatly improve my writing skills in a variety of ways. I have learned multiple things by taking this class, such as new ways to approach writing and that there is much that I still need to learn about composition.
The objective of this literature review is to examine articles that have addressed the education sector in order to expand the set of social justice principles that helps in building the good practice. The study commences with an examination of the concepts and perspectives of social
Academic success to me is achieving good grades and understanding the material to get good grades. Academic success also means to have an good attendance. I already get mostly A’s and B’s, but I am not good at staying on top of things. To improve my academic success I will attend class more often, be more organized, pay attention in class, and not procrastinate.
For me, synthesis means the joining or union of two separate topics. Furthermore, synthesis is being able to combine work or thoughts together and make two ideas relate to one another in a beneficial way. I often try to synthesize work and school in my everyday life. Earlier this semester I realized my biology and chemistry classes have come together to make a whole.
Not to my surprise, my first attempt to theorize what I felt being a social studies teacher was has changed quite significantly in just about a year 's time. There 's no doubt that my experiences in both my fall placement and spring placements have altered my theory a great deal. When I wrote my creed I noticed that I tended to focus a great deal on how the teacher would be the central figure in my pedagogy. By all means the teacher in the classroom a
Being a teacher is a journey that has much to do with learning about yourself and being aware that what happens in your classroom reflects only on how are you with yourself. Teachers are not conscious that they project into students, and that affects how things go in the classroom. I believe the first characteristic of a good teacher is that he/ she is always willing to analyze his/her teaching performance. Second the teacher is humble enough to receive input about the development and application of techniques, learning from it and improving.
