There are lot of new things and knowledge I have learnt throughout the process of completing this coursework project. The most vital aspect that I learnt from was the selection and adaption of materials to suit my pupils’ needs. Allwright (1990) argues that materials should teach students to learn, that they should be resource books for ideas and activities for instruction and learning, and that they should give teachers rationales for what they do. Allwright emphasizes that materials control learning and teaching. Therefore, materials are the centre of instruction and one of the most important influences on what goes on in the classroom. One of the tasks in the coursework is the designing of lesson plan for a 60-minute lesson based on the KSSR syllabus and we have to adapt, design and exploit the teaching and learning materials for the lesson planned. Planning and designing a lesson is not a new area of learning to us as we have been to practicum phase for two consecutive semesters. The video itself was able to catch the pupils’ attention and the song also has its own ability to make my pupils started singing it without having me giving them instruction. It must be because the song was really suitable to pupils’ level of understanding. After all, the weakness of the video song was that the song was repetitive and took a longer time. So, pupils spent more time to watch the video than to actually sing and make the actions. But the opportunity of this material is there where I can made use of this song as a set induction to any suitable lesson because the song included some actions in which can warm up and cheer up my pupils. The threat to this material is that if I am posted to school that does not has the equipment like LCD projector, I would never be able to use this as my teaching
Critical Reflection and Analysis Co-working a case through conducting direct work with an eight-year old girl, I used professional curiosity to explore an alarming self-disclosure made to me about her sleeping with a fifteen-year old boy, who was a non-relative. By keeping an open mind, avoiding making assumptions, analysing what was said and observing the child’s body language, I determined that whilst this incident was really inappropriate, there was nothing untoward happening. However, to safeguard and minimise risk for the child, I relayed this information to the relevant social worker so the concern could be properly addressed and resolved. With the C. family I had to consistently question and evaluate the reliability and validity

Through implement activities in this classroom, I observed that children have capacity to use materials in variety of ways to learn and explore base on their experiences and interests. Even though I have planned my activity and image how children might approach to the materials, I restrain instructions and let children express how they play and learn. I stay beside to observe and assist when children needed. It is treasure to see how children excited to learn and be creative. In the classroom, I’m sensitive to individual differences and abilities.

Sequence: I use Sequence as needed. I struggle with organization and I like to do things on my own time. I’m a procrastinator so if I have a timeframe to get things done, I either get things done late or right on time. I’m able to meet deadlines as needed.
During the Socratic Seminar, I actively listened to the claims being said and gave my input when I felt I had enough evidence to support an argument that I felt should be put out there. I also had my study guides, the two journals, “Dover Beach” poem and TP-CASTT, Fahrenheit 451 book, “Where Is Our Dover Beach?” article, and a paper with quotes and facts I gathered that related to the two topics. I used these resources throughout the seminar as references and evidence. An example of this was when I gave my claim that fitting into society can seem like a form of happiness but is not. To support this claim, I used the quote from Fahrenheit 451: “‘You took all the pills in your bottle last night.’
