For example, The author provides a look into the physical training as well as the psychological training for the two swimmers as they try and make the olympic swim team (Mullen 1). The author does a wonderful job describing everything that happens during the training of a swimmer like the review said. For example, "Mullen skillfully details exactly what the swimmers are feeling and think and Sports fans and anyone who has trained for competition will find this book enjoyable" (“GOLD” 1). The author perfectly describes what is going on in the swimmer's head while they are in their ruthless training for the Olympics. For example, The book features two boys, one trying to trace his father's path to Olympic glory and one trying to walk away from everything.
When the time for our pool class came I could not back down, so the first thing I did when I entered the pool was to dunk my head in the water and wet my face, to which I received a mouthful of chlorinated water. As I spat it out, I was unsure whether I should even try swimming with my head underwater or if I should continue with my previous technique. I decided to plow on since I had already mentally prepared. As I did, I practiced taking 3 strokes then coming up for a breath of air like the instructor had told me the previous week. While doing this, I felt myself propel through the water faster than ever before, and I felt less fatigued too, likely because this form was more aerodynamic and I no longer had to swim with extra weight since human heads naturally float .
When these kids grow up, they can use these skills to be able to cooperate and talk with their colleagues. Mahaseth also said, “by working together they will learn each other’s strengths and weaknesses and will be better able to decide and strategize the best plan for the team. This will without a doubt help them in their future lives and careers as well”. Working to get better with a group of people that one may know for a long time grows large bonds and a loyal
I enjoy helping others; I found that through my volunteer service, however, a Lifeguard needs other characteristics to succeed. In early spring of my sophomore year, I began training for the physical demands of the Water Safety Training Class and its prerequisites. Through daily practice, I built my endurance to swim three hundred yards continuously. I concentrated on one dreaded timed event that taxed my physical stamina. It entailed swimming twenty yards, retrieving a ten-pound brick from deep water, and then returning within one minute and forty seconds.

We constantly had to fight and push ourselves to new levels in order to excel in these environments, which skyrocketed each and every person’s play to the highest caliber. Through my positive experiences with my team and coaches in this club, I fell in love with volleyball, and I knew I couldn’t live without it. That’s when I knew I wanted to be a college volleyball player. The recruitment process was hectic, and my mom luckily handled most of the emails and letters that I would receive. Beginning my freshman year, I already had many schools that were either highly interested in me or had offered me a scholarship.

Hearing his passion for this school is definitely something to be both amazed at and inspired by. I realized that being a part of the Wentworth Institute of Technology community is not only about using the abundant resources to better yourself, but it is also to promote growth in others by using those same resources. When choosing an action that will have any impact on another member of the Wentworth community, I need to take their account into consideration. By being a part of a community, I need to learn to help others, as well as help
I enjoyed every moment of the practices that constantly pushed me to become better. My team pushed me physically and mentally to finish the last laps even though it was extremely tiring. During my junior year summer, I took my swimming to the next level, applying to become a swim instructor and lifeguard. My leadership skills were tested when I had to be interviewed for my job. As a lifeguard, I was responsible for the lives of many kids
