In this assignment I will be discussing nature and technology as binary opposites. I will be demonstrating critical thinking towards binary opposites by discussing them in depth. Further I will be discussing my example of interactive technology and how it exemplifies the relationships between humanity, nature and technology. In conclusion I will discuss why nature and technology may not strictly be seen as opposites.

Nature and technology are said to be binary opposites because technology is becoming more organic and nature is organic. The way of viewing these two words as opposites has changed through the advancement of technology. In the Dusek reading technology is the usage of tools and system to solve practical tasks (Dusek 2006:35). Technology makes it easier for humans to achieve their desires and needs through the use of tools and systems found in technology. Arthur defines technology as the programming of nature and the harnessing of human purposes (Arthur 2009:203). Technology is programmed in a way that nature has programmed itself to appropriate itself in the environment it is in. It can be said that the complexity of the relationships between humanity, nature and technology are evident in this wearable interactive technology. The ring having a silent function enables the user to interact with other human beings and can be said that it is more humane to interact with each other on a face to face interaction. And they become more aware of their surroundings. The ring does not take away the technological aspect, as it is a way of integrating technology into your life.
