The text bellow is an appeal of a French Canadian politician called Rene Boisvert, who is a Quebec separatist. Rene Boisvert use several language features when he is holding the speech and they all have a role of enhancing his main message to the audience. Firstly, Rene Boisvert uses rhetorical questions, for instance “What does Quebec what? What is Quebec’s future? By using rhetorical questions, he engage the audience to listen to his speech and makes them to reflect about the situation. Logos is also used in the speech, as a way of convincing the audience that Quebec will be better alone, without the English-speaking Canada. The statistics show that UK has the highest percent of children living in workless households by nearly 17% compared to the other countries. More than 45% of children in lone parent’s households lives in poverty, compared to 6% of the children who lives with both of their parent’s. These percent clearly shows that child poverty is one of the major social and economic issue in the UK. There are various factors related with child poverty. Therefore, the causes can vary according to their factors. However, the causes of child poverty can be direct as well as indirect. The main factors leading to child poverty can for instance, be higher taxes and unemployment in UK. The reason for owning gun also goes back in time around 1781 when the government had the articles of confederation. The founding fathers thought that the articles of confederation was weak and as result, they decided to create a new system of government on September 17, 1787 called the constitution. After some years in 1789, the second amendment was proposed by the congress and on December 15 1791, it was adopted to the constitution by one of the founding fathers, James Madison. The second amendment says that the people have the right to keep and bear arms. It was in fact, created to make the citizen much safer in case the government became too powerful and as a protection against the Indian raids. According to the Kids.laws.com, the second amendment is defined, as “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”. Due to the second amendment, there was 55million gun-owning voters in 2008 and 4.5 million American are members of the national rifle association. Besides, numerous of people claims that the amendment gives them the right to own guns and supports it by claiming that they could protect their country, in case something happens for instance war.
