What type of government is the U.S under? The answer to that question is a democracy. A democracy is an political idea, that citizens of a society should be able to govern themselves and have a say in the structure and elected officials in a government. To be more specific, the U.S is governed by a Representative democracy, which means that the officials of a government are elected by a majority of people. There are also governments that are similar and different from Representative democracy. Socialism is similar to democracy because they both revolve around the idea of equality of people and their independence. But communism on the other hand, is different from democracy, as communism allows a single party or leader to control all power in …show more content…
To be involved with the government, you would have to be associated with the party, or come from a family line of previous dictators. Some communist countries including North Korea, can control the economy and society of the land. That involves everything from imprisoning civilians, to stopping production of food and goods and more. The idea is that the government will provide citizens whatever they need to strive and further improve the government. This is different from democracy as the government does not have the power to overpower citizens and dictate the society as the many layers of government would prevent such power from being held. Communism is different from democracy because communism doesn't allow citizens the rights of practicing religion and owning private property or businesses as the government rejects the idea of individuality between citizens. It is all different because citizens in a communist society do not have freedom of choice as all social, political, and economic decisions are dictated by the leader or party. Citizens have access to equal healthcare and education between people so that everyone has equal opportunity. Communism, however, is similar to democracy of the fact that each government wants equal say and rights for citizens, and that no citizen will be denied rights due to gender or
Since these people in communist governments don’t have anything for themselves. Everyone in a communist government are the same there is no two-different person. They have the same house, car, number of children, etc. as well as being similar to everyone no one has any freedoms or a voice. They can’t practice their religion or give their own
Socialism and communism are often mistaken and used almost interchangeably; however, the two ideologies are distinct from one another. There are some connections that they have such as Karl Marx but overall are two different
One of the major differences between capitalism and communism is who controls the resources. In a communist environment, the government has full control of resources; in a capitalist country, the resources’ are the owner’s responsibility. In the US “We, the people” have full ownership of our property; in North Korea, however, they have no real ownership of their property, the government owns it. America is a classed society, as most know as being the lower, middle, and upper classes for the poor, middle wealth, and rich, respectively. Since wealth is distributed somewhat equally in a communist economy, this system is nonexistent.
Socialism is an economic system based on the collective ownership of the means of production, collective distribution of goods and services, and government regulation of the economy. Communism is a system of government that eliminates private property. Communism erases social structure and orders as everyone works equally under the government. Karl Marx identified the shift from household production to factory work as an example of when people lose control over their production and the conditions of production, they become alienated and view work as a means to survive. --- service and knowledge
Powerful Governments A government is to be in charge of the economic affairs, policy, and actions of a country. There are various types of governments, with laws and restrictions that citizens are to follow. These laws and restrictions can easily be taken to extremes as portrayed in George Orwell’s 1984.
There are two types of democracy, direct democracy and representative democracy. While they are both democracies, they have many differences. However, they have quite a few similarities as well. A direct democracy is a form of government where everybody votes. A representative democracy is a form of government where electives are chosen to make major decisions.
Based on the paragraphs provided a communist government is the worst idea I have ever heard of. When people don't have basic rights like the ones provided in the Bill of Rights there is no unity between government and people.
Communism builds on the idea that everyone is the same and should earn the same amount of money regardless of their profession. The most important with communism is that there should not be any class distinctions. China, Laos, Cuba and Vietnam
There will always be different views and opinions when it comes to government politics. One interesting view is whether or not our nation is led by an Elite or Popular Democracy. A democracy is a form of government that is run by elected officials that are voted into public office by the people for representation. There are different perspectives on how a democratic system should work.
The United States government is best defined as a federal constitutional republic. As a constitutional republic, the U.S. government is organized by the Constitution, setting forth the political threshold of the people, which are known as the federal and state governments. As a federal republic, the control stands by the people throughout the voting process of electing the federal and state officials. The federal government is limited by the distribution of authority within the states as outlined in the Constitution. Although many people like to call the United States a democracy, this is not the case, because the public does not directly control legislation.
What if there were no social classes and everyone is equal? What if we had unlimited free trade between nations? What if the famous people that we idolized today were all part of a certain political party? All of these ideas, plus many more, are the ideas presented in the Communist Party USA, and the Communist party in general.
Marx saw capital and liberal democracies as the fundamental reasons for the low standards of living and the low social conditions of workers. Karl Marx in particular is especially concerned with the political assumptions behind these two ideologies. According to him, these two types of government should be replaced by communism, since communism would provide a more equal and socially just society. Although this statement may seem unusual, since we tend to associate communism with Stalin and China, the type of communism implemented in these countries is different from the communism that Marx and Engels envisaged in their Communist Manifesto. Marx and Engels’ vision of communism is based on the principle of equality among the people and freedom
To begin with, communism and socialism first use in French and Italian revolutionary with the same purpose to overthrow the established governments and set up a new propertyless society. Communism and socialism both have the same objective but different in degree. In other word, communism is the extremist version of socialism. To compare, while most governments these days combine free market capitalism and socialists ideas, communism exists in few parts of the world. While communists seeks to completly eliminate capitalists government and support the role of worker in search for equality, socialists seeks to increase public social programs than the private and advocates to reduce class structure instead.
In order to compare and contrast varying types of government within two or more countries, one must have a clear definition of Government and know the purposes it serves. Therefore, I did some research and I have established that Government is a group that exercises dominant power over a nation, state, society or other body of people. Governments are commonly responsible for constructing and implementing laws, handling money, and defending the general population from external threats, and may have other obligations or privileges. All over the world, there are many different types of government within countries. Each kind has its advantages as well as disadvantages regarding the general well-being of its peoples and economy.
Government Government is a system of social control under which the right to make laws, and the right to enforce them, is given to a particular group in society. Government power can be held by one individual, a few, or a majority. Government come in different forms. The basic law determining the form of government is called the constitution and may be written, as in the United States, or largely unwritten, as in Great Britain.
