Al Capone was born in Brooklyn New York in 1899. He was born to poor immigrant parents. Al Capone went on to be the most infamous gangster in history. He was the fourth of seven sons and two daughters. He was one of the most feared mob bosses. During his reign he made thousands of dollars and his empire was worth more than a million dollars. People couldn't decide if he was good or bad. During his reign he tried to do things to help his community like open a food kitchen to feed the poor, and tried to ensure the safety of the city’s children. When he wasn't trying to persuade the people he was good, he was being Chicago’s biggest mob boss and was tried for the murders of many people.
At the age of five Capone had enrolled in public school. The school was a very poor one with a prejudiced school system. The school did little to nothing to encourage Capone and the other students to get a higher education. Al Capone excelled in all his classes until …show more content…

Gang murders were rising and people were being killed in huge numbers. When Torrio had returned he was so concerned for his life that he left Chicago again and went to Arkansa. 12 days after a gang had attempted to murder Capone, Torri decided to come back to Chicago. He and his wife had just came home from shopping and were already on there way to their apartment building. A rival gang ambushed them and shot Torrio multiple times, but he wasn't killed. He was sent to a hospital to receive extensive medical treatment. Capone stayed in the hospital with Torrio until he was healed and better. After Torrio’s shooting he wanted out of the violent business. He wanted to live quietly and retire from his life of crime. Torrio turned over everything that he owned to Capone. Capone’s power over this city had increased
