Latino Culture Customs To learn about a different culture, I interviewed my longtime best friend Gabby. Gabby is Latina and has lived in the United States for most of her life. Although she has not lived in Mexico or been there very often, she still knows and practices a lot about her culture at home. One of the first things she told me about was food.

Unfortunately her career was cut short by the president of her own fan club, Yolanda Saldívar. Saldívar had been embezzling money submitted by member and of the fan club as well as financial profit from Selena's clothing store.
In 1517, Fransico Hernadez de Cordoba sparked a Spanish conquest of a promising new land called Mexico as he journeyed from Cuba to Yucatan. When he reported back to the Spanish governor Diego Velasquez, who was in Cuba at the time, about this land, Velasquez sent Hernan Cortes and a few ships to scope it out. When Cortes and his men arrived, they caught wind of the seemingly magical Aztec Empire.

Latin artists almost always start off with fan base in Spanish speaking countries, but once they are able to crossover into the American mainstream music it is a completely different story, it leads to instant fame. One of the most popular dishes in El Salvador is sopa de pata. Sopa de pata is soup with cow’s feet, tripe, yuca, chayote, sweet corn, onions, and bananas. In El Salvador it is eaten most commonly as an appetizer, but some people eat it as a meal. A pupusa is a very common dish in El Salvador, made from a thick corn tortilla.

Be creative in planning weekly menus and use shopping lists to make things easier. Gluten free menu ideas: Breakfast: Cream of rice cereal with seeds or nuts; cheese and vegetable omelet with fried potatoes; cottage cheese with cinnamon and apples; turkey bacon and eggs. Lunch and Dinner: Loaded baked potatoes; salad with toasted almonds and meats; stir-fry with fish, vegetables and brown rice; beef or turkey chili, veggie sticks and corn chips; chicken or beef kabobs.

It has a population of 11,275,000 people and a total area of 42,803 square miles. It was discovered in 1492 by Christopher Columbus and he claimed Cuba for Spain (Cuban Profile-Timeline). Spain declared war for independence in 1868 to 1878 before abolishing slavery.
