In the note, they specifically ask for $118,000, which is close to the bonus John Ramsey received that year. Another strange thing about the ransom note is that it was 2½ pages long and very detailed, if you think about it a ransom note is usually 2-5 sentences long. Upon their arrival, the Boulder police did a terrible job by not searching the inside of the house right away; only searching for signs of forced entry, which they did not find and letting the Ramsey’s have family and friends over causing the crime scene to be contaminated. Around 1 pm, John and a family friend are asked by a detective to search the house to see if “anything seemed amiss”, which was a huge mistake. Finding his daughter’s body in the basement with her hands tied behind her back, duct tape covering her mouth and a nylon cord around her neck. John picked JonBenét up and took her body upstairs, by doing this he basically destroyed the crime scene and forensics evidence. After JonBenét’s body was found the Ramsey’s stopped cooperating with the police and hired a lawyer. Could they be more obvious? And where is Burke …show more content…
The autopsy reported stated that the cause of the death was “asphyxia by strangulation associated with carniocerebral trauma” and pineapple was found in her stomach. Guess what was found at the crime scene, a bowl of pineapple on the counter of the Ramsey’s kitchen with Burke and Patsy’s fingerprints. Burke had a habit of waking up in the middle of the night to eat a snack; Patsy had to know about Burke’s habit so maybe she had cut pineapples slices for him to snack on at night. JonBenét might have heard her older brother in the kitchen causing her to follow him; when she sees Burke eating pineapple she gets one making him angry for grabbing something that was meant for him, I mean wouldn’t you get mad at your younger sibling touching something that’s yours? Burke gets angry and hits JonBenét on the head which caused the skull fracture found in the autopsy, he does have a history of hitting his sister with objects. In the autopsy report the doctor reported the object that caused the fracture on her skull was a flashlight, one was found in the basement but the Ramsey’s “don’t recall having a flashlight”. When the 911 recording was release the last few seconds are inaudible. In 2016 CBS created a 3-hour documentary called The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey where they release and enhance version of the last six second of the 911 call where three voices

Immediately the child abduction case turned into that of a cold blooded murder. “The police should have done a better job controlling the crime scene from the begining” (Adams). With John Ramsey picking up his daughter’s dead body, and family friends walking around the house all morning, the chances of finding any evidence within the house was diminished.
What kind of murderer is comfortable taking their time writing a three page ransom note while the family sleeps and could wake up at any moment? Evaluation - John Ramsey: I don’t believe John killed his daughter. He could’ve been told to go check the basement or maybe he was trying to see if his daughter was hiding. Lots of people find the bodies of a murder and are not the killer, but are thought of being the reason the body is there. As odd as it is that he found her in a room barely used he doesn’t have a motive.
The Unsolved Murder of Jonbenét Ramsey On the morning of December 26, 1996, Jonbenét Ramsey, a 6-year-old beauty pageant queen, was pronounced kidnapped in an emergency 911 call. Later that day, Jonbenét Ramsey was found dead in her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado. The case was flourishing among the media, following every step of the case. Eventually, the story would expand within the entire United States.
The police investigating the crime said that the way the body was placed seemed like a cover-up for the crime, but could have also been moved by the father who found and picked her up, and that the ransom note was staged by Patsy Ramsey. In 2002 the DA reinvestigated the case, this time they looked at people that were not related to JonBenet as suspects. In 2008 the DA sent out an apology letter to the ramseys declaring that the family was completely cleared from the crime, and in February 2009 the Boulder Police reopened the investigation. There are two main theories about who killed JonBenet Ramsey one of the two is the Intruder Theory, Smits Theory was a theory that someone had broken into the ramseys

When police officer Rick French arrived at the Ramsey home around 6 a.m. he did a search routine for what he thought was a kidnapping. “From the beginning [French thought] it was obvious that [he] was called to investigate what was initially reported as a kidnapping [which] allowed contamination of evidence that might have been found at the crime scene” (Church). Who Killed JonBenet? I believe the murder was committed by a fatal blow to the head. I think it was a fatal blow and she was strangled. I also believe that it was an accident by Burke Ramsey, I believe he got angry and hit JonBenet over the head with a flashlight. They examined the body and a piece of skull was missing from the top of her head, and a flashlight fit exactly in that space.
JonBenet was in several pageants and was known all over the nation for her glittery costumes and performances, by the time of her demise she had five titles to her name: Little Miss Colorado, Little Miss Charlevoix, Colorado state All-Star kids Covergirl, American Royal Miss, and National Tiny Miss Beauty(Worthen). Patsy had found a ransom note demanding $118,000 and promising that the kidnappers would contact the Ramseys before 10:00 a.m.( Puffer-Rothenberg) she was found strangled with a fractured skull in the basement of her parents home hours after the kidnappers did not call (Puffer-Rothenberg). The abductors wanted a ransom of 118,000 dollars, the Ramseys’ were not allowed to contact anyone including the police, and that they were going to call the house in a few hours to collect their money. Patsy disregarded what the note said and called the police to report a kidnapping. Not even 8 hours later
When I looked at the handwriting of the ransom note and the handwriting of Patsy, there are some similarities, within the letters. Any individual can make their handwriting look sloppy, but there will always be similarities. I believe Patsy could have been irritated by something that JonBent could have possibly done, which caused Patsy to hit JonBent with a forceful object that could have caused serious brain damage. Instead of taking JonBent to the hospital she decide to stage a crime sense of a kidnap and murder instead. If Patsy did murder her daughter she got away with the
