According to Public Health Emergency (2017), organization resilience has to be considered at a number of different levels one being Individual Resilience which deals with behaviors, thoughts, and actions that promote personal wellbeing and mental health. People can develop the ability to withstand and recover from stress and return to a state of mental health by using effective coping strategies. In every organization there is room for growth therefore, there are things that Eve Anderson Recruitment Limited can do to encourage a higher degree of resilience. Homewood Human Solutions (2013) listed a few;
1. Clarity of Purpose- clearly communicating the purpose and objectives of the team and providing role clarity is the foundation upon which resilience is built.
2. Encourage team cohesion- a resilient team is one in which people have a shared sense of purpose and connectedness. They work effectively together without displaying negative behaviors and support each other during tough periods. Team cohesion can be built through social activities, group trainings, celebrating individual and group achievements, regular informal team get-togethers and creating a culture of mutual trust and respect.
3. Understand workload- some firms are trying to do more with less, but unmanageable workloads that require employees to consistently work long hours and endure unrelenting stress can completely undermine any efforts to nurture resilience and hurt the organization through poor productivity and reduced

In order to be relevant in an organisation you must be in involved in CPD (Institute of Training and Occupational Learning (ITOL), (2014). According to ITOL (2014), in order to enhance my capabilities in managing an agile organisation, CPD is a necessary contribution in my career if I am to be a role model of the commitment and learning and development expected from others. Being resilient in tough situations can be substantial in some cases. To be resilient means one has great wit, especially in a 'finding a way out ' scenario. It can even be the key to survival, as can be shown in a short excerpt from Unbroken, by Laura Hillenbrand. It gives a great example of resilience based off of a situation that Louie Zamperini finds himself and crew in as their plane crashes in the Pacific Ocean. What characteristic is most important in helping Louie survive?
This resilience has been shown to help managers to enable their staff to withstand the changing needs of the healthcare system. However, this is not something that can be taught, and is not a trait but more of a state of mind including being realistic, in the moment, aware and prepared (Countu, 2002). One main criticism of this observation is that we will have no way of knowing whether the staff were acting as they usually would or whether they were acting differently as they were aware they were being observed, as this has been shown to change the nature of a person’s behaviour and is more commonly referred to as the “Hawthore Effect” (Campbell, Maxey and Watson, 1995). Another key issue is that again these views are subjective and emotion/demeaner are not always universally interpreted.
The determination to live comes from human nature. But the urge of giving up when we come across a difficult problem is also a part of human nature. There a few people in this world that have the characteristics of resilience. As author Kendra Cherry describes them, "People that are able to keep their cool have what psychologists call resilience, or an ability to cope with problems and setbacks" (Source A; Cherry, 1). An example of someone who has the characteristics of resilience is a bombardier name Louis (Louie) Zamperini.
Louie Zamperini was a remarkable man, soldier, and survivor. Growing up a slipshod child in California, Louie learned to push himself on the track. The “Torrance Tornado” was destined for the Olympics. His career was abruptly stopped in 1940 when Adolf Hitler and his regime destroyed the Olympic stadium in Finland. With his dream diminished, he became a bombardier for the U.S. Army during World War II.
Increased Work Efficiency / Productivity A team that has good culture of teamwork and mutual motivation will make the members more productive and smarter. Such a team where seamless and effective relationships exist, members are poised to learn from one another, develop skills and leverage on such internally gained skills to expedite work processes thereby increasing overall efficiency, reducing downtimes and knowledge gaps. Collaboration among such team members will make members to perform at their best by working on what they do best.
1. I feel that forgiveness is not for the other person, it’s a process that provides you the energy and the self-confidence to move on. One reason why is forgiveness is not for the other is because in my experience, forgiveness is a situation where serious harm has been done to you physically or mentally. The next steps are finding a way to relieve your conscious of the harm caused.
What does resilience really mean to you? The literal definition to resilience is the ability to cope with problems and setbacks. In the story Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, she shows us all different kind of ways that the characters in her story used the skills that Kendra Cherry was talking about, to help them out of every situation. In this story it shows how certain situations affect people in different ways and how each person goes through seven skills. The characteristic that Louie undergoes is the skill of Strong Problem-Solving.
Resilience First Aid Kit-Reflection Resilience is defined as; the ability to adapt to stressful, or difficult situations. If you are resilient, you are able to adapt to situations which trouble you without major difficulties. The task was to “Create a Resilience First-Aid Kit”. My resilience first aid kit includes items that I believe will assist someone to overcome problems, stress or hard situations that may occur throughout their time.
Resilience is known as bouncing back from the adversities and bringing in strength to cope to difficulties. Adversities happen at personal, community and organisational level. Resilience allows the person to come out of the adversity, rather than staying with it and to move forward further. This is a way of maintaining positive mental health and maintaining one’s own well being in the midst of adverse conditions. It enables a person to maintain positive health in the midst of challenges (Mowbray, 2011).
Hardy, Concato & Gill (2004) stated that resilient people are those who display “the capacity to remain well, recover, or even thrive in face of adversity”. Masten (2001) as mentioned that they are the ordinary person dealing with the challenges and tragedies of everyday real life. For instance, the response of many Americans to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and individuals’ efforts to rebuild their lives shows their resiliency. Being resilient does not mean that a person does not have or had experience difficulty or distress; the emotional pain and sadness are common but the path to resilience is likely to involve considerable emotional distress. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity or hardship, Debra Oswald was able to express this through the lives of fictitious characters based on real Australian People. She uses themes concerning people marginalised in society, the struggle to achieve one’s dream and the past affect the present, by using these ideas with the diverse cast of characters as well as the range of literary and dramatic techniques, Oswald was able to show how people face adversity and how important it is to have resilience through the engagement of the characters and there development throughout the play. Amy presents with extreme anxiety bordering on depression. Her demeanour and body language reflect fear and reluctance to share her life story. As a counsellor I am faced by such situations numerous times whereby active listening and non judgemental questioning break the ice. The Importance of Resilience Resilience is the way towards adapting in the midst of misfortune, injury, catastrophe, dangers, or huge swathes of stress. It signifies rebound from troublesome encounters by honing the abilities required to give you a chance to travel through misfortune, as opposed to getting noticeably characterized by it. For better understanding Resilience is the procedure and result of effectively adjusting to troublesome or testing life encounters and the capacity to transcend one's conditions. I myself an ardent student and practised resilience to bounce back from a catastrophic event which rocked my life. In the event, if I had not practised resilience, that overarching circumstance would have overpowered by misfortune and my value would have impacted into a more serious danger of utilizing undesirable methods for dealing with stress to manage life's difficulties, for example, animosity towards self or others.
