Revenge is not justice, and it's not ethical it's an evil mentality that creeps up on you and attacks your morals until you’re a completely different person. In the three revenge short stories, each character eventually turns to revenge. Immediately after feels satisfied and relaxed. These actions give an insight into the fact that they are compliant with the crimes that they have committed. The hypocrisy because they have just caused the character pain, so they go and make sure that they feel the same pain. “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind” is a quote that suggests Revenge is hypocritical because you become the person you despise the most. Even in the worst situations, revenge is never an option because there is always going to be collateral damage. In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” the main character Rainsford is a famous hunter from New York City, and he swims to the shore of an island after he falls off a boat. On the island by a man named general Zaroff and his servant Ivan. In the beginning of the story Rainsford is astonished “but they are men Rainsford said hotly. Precisely they give me pleasure. General Zaroff said” (8). Men are not meant to be hunted is one of Rainsfords morals at the beginning of the story, however when Zaroff says “ I see, he said. Splendid! One of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in this very excellent bed. On guard, Rainsford....He had never slept in a better bed, Rainsford decided” (15). This quote is the turning point where Rainsford is no longer the person he arrived as he has morphed into someone else someone who he never wanted to be. His loss of morals has caused him to become just as savage as the general was which the old him would have
