Tim Tebow and Nathan Whitaker’s wonderfully crafted autobiography Through My Eyes is a 260 page masterpiece. The story follows Tebow’s football career, from peewee to the pros. His extreme Christian faith that he was brought up on, and his homeschooling allowing him to practice it. From living in the Philippines, to living in Jacksonville. He faced adversity for his size and peculiar throwing style, but pursued to be a Heisman winning quarterback rather a linebacker.
Tebow wrote his autobiography to showcase his life of a devout Christian, and becoming the most popular player in college and professional football. He writes about spreading his faith on an astounding platform, from writing scriptures under his eyes with eye black to taking a

Tebow also writes about his successes on and off the field, winning two National Championships with the Florida Gators, winning a Heisman Trophy in 2007, being a first round NFL draft pick, beating the Steelers in the 2011 playoffs with an overtime win, as well as becoming a missionary, making recurring trips to his birthplace.
Tim Tebow’s book had many great insights about his life, but there are three events that are above the rest. In chapter four, Tim talks about his life on their Jacksonville farm, his little league baseball career, and an insight to his upbringing. “Uncle Dick was our next door neighbor and an important part of our lives. Known to the rest of the world as Richard Fowler, I really thought he was my uncle”(pg 7.). Tebow and his siblings spend every Saturday morning at Uncle Dick’s to watch cartoons, as their family didn’t own a television. Dick became very close with the Tebow’s, and eventually attended one of Robert’s (Tim’s dad) church services and accepted Christ. Robert was a Baptist, and intended on raising his children to live a Christian life. Dick would supply the young Tebows with plenty of popsicles and Coke. In chapter eight, Tim Tebow gets his first taste of the recruitment

When Tim was back in his Jacksonville farm growing up, they had a visit by none other than White Sox pitcher Joel Davis. He had met Rob Tebow through Fellowship of the Christian Athletes, and intended on dropping his dog (respectively named White Sox) off at the Tebow farm. Davis spent the day out there, enjoying playing baseball with the Tebow boys. Tim Tebow used to write Philippians 4:13 under his eyes with eye black, until their Championship in 2008, when he decided to write John 3:16. That Bible verse was then searched by 94 million people immediately after the game. The summer before Tebow entered high school, he attended a retreat in Hilliard, Florida. There was a contest to see how many curls one could do with a 55 pound bar. The highest amount was 55 times. Tim was last, but he began as pumping away. He finished with an incredible total of 315 reps. He had won, by a longshot. In Tebow’s 2007 season, they played LSU. The students from Louisiana somehow got ahold of Tim’s phone number, and began to penetrate his cellular device with violent and sexual messages pertaining to him and his family. LSU, depressingly won in heartbreaking fashion, 28-24. The most shocking fact about Tim was that he almost never became Tim, as he would’ve died during birth. His mother also would have perished if not for some miracle. His placenta was just barely attached to keep the nutrients flowing
"If the stress is blocked out, success will come out", fits the book, Million Dollar Throw, in many ways. Nate is given an opportunity to change not only his life, but also his family and his friend's lives. When Nate is given the chance to win a million dollars, many different stressful situations on and off the football field of stress are piled on top of his shoulders. The situations consist of his best friend going blind, the media constantly following him, and just the pressure of making the throw. When Nate is presented with all of this stress, he is able to block all of it out of his mind and just do what he does best, throw a football.
I can imagine myself in the story when I read it. By the way he wrote his book, I can tell that the book itself reflects all the characters’ fear, passions, necessities, and personalities, but mostly it reflects his. For example in chapter seven, “How to Tell a True War Story”, Tim says
In his career he had some things that molded him to his character. He realised that he wanted to be a football player when he was in High School, but he worked twice as hard in college. And after college he was drafted to the Atlanta Falcons and that when he joined the NFL. “You know I’ve had my ups and downs.” Is another quote from Brett Favre.
QB1 by Mike Lupica is about a young high school football player trying to be the best player he can be. The main character, Jake Cullen, tries to work his way up to the starting quarterback spot on his team. By carrying on his well-known family's legacy throughout his football career, Jake learns that he needs to make his own destiny. In the beginning of the book, Jake's older brother, Wyatt, is winning a state championship with his high school football team, the Granger Cowboys.
I chose the life and career of Peyton Manning as my research paper. Peyton was born on March 24, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana. His parents are the already football star Archie Manning and his wife Olivia Peyton. So, Peyton was already born with a football in his hand so to speak. He improved his skills as a football player early on by practicing with his brother’s, dad, and childhood friends at an early age.
Popular NFL quarterback Tim Tebow, known for his charitable works and Christian faith, said that he finds running for a political office "intriguing." A celebrity adorning an elected office is not very new. Ronald Reagan was the most famous example of a celebrity making it to the President 's office. So, there is no need to be caught off-guard if we see the football star playing chief at the White House.
Kamran Smith In the fantastic book, Code of Honor by Alan Gratz, Kamran Smith is the star running-back on his high school football team. Kamran was going to go to West Point for college, just like his brother Darius. But Darius has different ideas. On the news, the Army Ranger, Darius Smith, is seen attacking a U.S. embassy.
Discovery Famous football coach, Tony Dungy, is consistently a man of honor and strength throughout his book “Quiet Strength”. His book is a memoir of his life which captures his discovery of what it means to be a Godly leader and how to live it out both on and off the field. With his son 's tragic suicide, and media fiascos with players, Tony discovers that listening to God and who he has put in our lives will give him peace and wisdom. Tonys upbringing set him up for a lifetime of possibilities which allowed him to go farther than most. I connected most with how Tony handled his son’s suicide, he handled it in a manner I wish i could and would have.
I went to the war.” (last paragraph 58) This helps us understand that going to war was not an accomplishment for Tim. He regretted not running away and hated that he went.
Ty Lewis ' life is not a simple one. His parents died in a car accident and his older brother, who he idolizes and tries to take after, is away finishing college. For the time being, ty must live with his aunt and uncle in not exactly ideal living conditions. He has a porta potty in the yard for a bathroom, and he scrubs toilets and bathroom floors for his Uncle Gus ' cleaning business. Things should get better as his brother Thane Tiger Lewis is about to be drafted into the NFL and come into some serious money.
“When the world says give up hope whispers try it one more time.” Tim Tebow Sometimes in life things happen that you have no control over, and can cause a roadblock in life that you just can 't get over. That is what happened to me. One day I goggled inspiration quotes and that one came up. I didn’t know who Tim Tebow was or what he did so I researched him.
I take fantasy football seriously. I’m in multiple leagues, most with people I know some with people I don't. I spend hours each week researching what players may be destined to score more points than the players I currently have. I wake up early on Wednesday to see who is available on the waiver wire. I spend over 5 hours every Sunday just cheering on my players through the television.
His winning streak began in high school when he was a Senior. He had college and pro scouts coming out to look at him. He decided to go to University of Michigan. This is when his career took off and he won twenty of the twenty-five games that he started. After his college career, Tom Brady went on to join the New England Patriots and has won five super bowl rings.
This quote from the short story illustrates how Tim felt about leaving for the war. He knew that it was against his beliefs for him to leave. He eventually left for the war, still not believing in what he was fighting for which resulted in Tim losing sight of who he was. He allowed the pressures of society to influence him and morph his character into one resemblant of the popular belief of the time. In the story of The Book Thief, Hans Hubermann experiences a similar situation to Tim.
The Eighty Yard Run by Irwin Shaw is about two main characters, Christian Darling who it a college running back who plays at Midwestern University and his girlfriend Louise Tucker, who also goes to the same college. This short story starts with a description of a run that was made during a practice but he is recreating it in his mind to make it seem like it was in a game. He is recreating the entire play 15 years later while sitting on the same practice field that it had originally happened. In this story Christian wants to go back to time where everything was a simple as just playing football, being with his girlfriend, and going to school. Irwin Shaw seems to portray that you should not but all your eggs into one basket like Christian does with football.
