He caught the revolutionary movement’s attention and caused controversy when he refused to make peace with England. In document six, Thomas expresses his opinion towards the events that fueled anger between the colonists towards the Parliament. “. No man was a warmer wisher for a [peaceful settlement] than myself, before the fatal nineteenth of April 1775 [the battles at Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts, occurred on this day], but the moment the event of that day was made known, I rejected the hardened, sullen-tempered [King of England] forever.” The Battle of Lexington and Concord destroyed the peaceful life of the colonies. Numerous people were left wounded and many dead bodies were left in the battlefield. The British ran a tyranny that will eventually destroy the liberty of the colonies hence, they have no other option than to rebel and resist by force. Thomas once said, “Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.” He wanted to contribute the fact that the only way to obtain true freedom is by breaking away from what is keeping you captive. Thomas knew that
Thomas Paine's common sense pamphlet was influential and had a crucial part in the American Revolution. The american revolution was started for a number of reasons, but I think it was mostly because of the Townshend Acts. These acts were what caused the colonists to act against the British, one of the most popular acts that the colonists rebelled against was called the Tea Act. these Townshend Acts were made to fix Britain's debt in the British East India company. These Townshend Acts put a tax on imported goods like glass, paint, oil, paper and tea, making merchants make less of a profit getting the colonists angry.
The American colonists viewed the outcome of this case as unjust and wrong. However, the British soldiers retained innocence in the murder of the Bostonians, due to aggressive actions of the rioters, the legal right to
In the end of the battle the British took all the artillery and supplies, leaving a bad scar on the colonists, this is just one
As a witness to The Boston Massacre as a Patriot as an English citizen, I believe that the British Soldiers are unstable to protect us if they will kill us. The acts that lead up to the killing of five patriots were downgrading us. After are Victory in the French and Indian War we became in debt. The British officials decided to make laws such as Writs of Assistance, Sugar Act, Quartering Act, Stamp Act and the Proclamation of 1763 and more were soon made. This just anger us so a boycott was made called The Sons of Liberty the leader was Samuel Adams.
“By this fatal maneuver three men were laid dead on the spot and two more struggling for life; but what showed a degree of cruelty unknown to British troops, at least since the house of Hanover has directed their operation, was an attempt to fire upon or push with their bayonets the persons who undertook to remove the slain and wounded!” When the colonists tried to help their injured friends, the soldiers took it upon themselves to fire upon those who tried to help. This is an example of how little the soldiers cared about the wellbeing of the

Before the outbreak of the American Revolution, tensions had been building between colonists and the British authorities. The injustice and the abuse of power in the government for the Colonists caused two main reasons by which The American Colonists waging war. The American Revolution in 1775-1783, was a fight for independence between the 13 colonies and the British. Events such as the Boston Tea Party, Stamp Act, and the Tea Act led to the increased tensions amongst the British and the Americans. In order to persuade the free blacks and slaves to fight for the American freedom, they offered them freedom from their masters’. However, it did not always have the slaves best interest at heart. The American Revolution served the interests of the American people to a great extent more so than the free blacks and slaves because they gained or retained freedom without joining the services.
The perspective of each group varied on account of their situations. Many of the colonists were actually very loyal to the British Crown. If it was not for those events, they would have never been pushed to wanting freedom. The British also did not want a war, especially with their own noblemen. They had already fought one war which they were still recovering from and did not have the resources to fight another one.
In order to reform the Empire and improve the financial issues, the British passed several new policies over the American colonies such as the Sugar Act, the Stamp Act and the Townshend Duty Act beneficial to gain revenue from the taxation. However, to many colonists, these regulations had violated their rights and properties. Therefore, they requested the King to repeal these Acts and refuse the Parliament’s rights to tax the colonies by sending to British the Declaration of Rights and Grievances. Plus, a group of people in Boston called themselves Sons of Liberty and protested against the Acts. The frictions between the American townspeople and the British soldiers kept increasing and had caused five deaths in the Boston Massacre.
Soldiers used guns to shoot them and there were 5 people dead. This famous event is been called Boston Massacre. After the Boston Massacre, colonists started to against the British government. So some of them, they called themselves ‘Sons of Liberty’, were making messes everywhere.
Although many historians believe that the Boston Massacre was an act of self-defense, it is clear that the incident was murder by the British soldiers. First of all, the soldiers came out with all of their bayonets and other weapons raised. This shows it was murder because the soldiers were prepared to fire into the crowd when they got into the street, not just rescue the sentry. Secondly, after the first round of bullets, the soldiers reloaded and fired again. This is evidence for murder because the soldiers clearly intended to kill more colonists, not just try to scare them off.
This Act made colonies very angry. They react with a boycott. Now watching live from just block away of the ground breaking event The Boston Massacre.
