In the American Revolution, there were two sides, the American Patriots who were willing to die for freedom, and the British Loyalists who were willing to die for their King. The main cause that the American Patriots wanted to separate from the British was because they were tired from the cruel and unfair ruling given by the British. They said the British were being cruel and unfair, for example, taxation without representation. Along with this reason, there are many more factors that led the American Patriots to leave Britain.
They were sending the message that they would not pay taxes on their tea. The British were furious with the actions of the colonists and needed to impose a punishment for their rebellion. This came in the form of the Intolerable Acts. These acts were an attempt by Parliament to gain complete control over the colonists. The culminations of these events led to the breakout of the Revolutionary War just short of two years after the Boston Tea Party.
This lead into the Pequot war. Soldiers from massachusetts helped the colonists fight the Pequot indians, and eventually the colonists pushed out the Native Americans and had victory in the 1630s. A little later after that, in 1675, the colonists and the Indians were not happy with each other for taking land. The war started when some Native Americans attacked a town in Rhode Island. The colonists were unhappy, in fact, extremely angry, so angry that they destroyed a Native American village, nearby the town that had been attacked,
The Revolutionary War caused lots of violence on both sides; the colonies and the British. Both sides lost many lives, and both sides won and lost many battles. The British army had trained soldiers that were more numerous and experienced than the American Minutemen. Americans believed that they were defined by their beliefs, in fighting for their rights, instead of their heritage. The unity of the American people was a defined by everybody together in a democracy, instead of the British monarchy that people were suppressed by, and left to join America for.
Citizens in the Revolutionary war period use Guerrilla warfare more so than militiamen, a well known example of this is the Boston Massacre in which 5 Boston Colonists were fatally shot, but it worked out, because british Captain Thomas Preston was arrested. After, the British militia had nobody to fill his spot. An example in Vietnam was Ho Chi Minh in December of 1965 ordering a change in the way the war in the south was to be fought. From that point on they would avoid pitched battles with the Americans and unless the odds were clearly in their favour, they would otherwise focus on hit and run
Was Revolution Avoidable? Could the American Revolution be avoided? This question is often asked by historians and today my soul purpose for writing this essay is to answer that question. The American Revolution couldn’t have been avoided. The revolution occurred because of clash of interest of british and colonist, Inflaming tensions by the colonist also cause revolution with Great Britain, and the third reason why the american revolution couldn’t have been avoided was the Boston Massacre.
The cold, dark night of March 5, 1770 colonists had had enough. These colonists fought back for their writs to freedom. King George the third was sending more soldiers in on the colonists. This enraged the colonists, but what could they do to fight back. Well they used their surroundings.
With the success of the removal of the Stamp Act, the group then officially disbanded themselves. The Boston Massacre The Boston Massacre was an incident that occurred on March 5, 1770. It all began when colonists were provoking the British soldiers by harassing them. During this time, tensions had developed between Colonial America and England.
The beginning of the American Revolution started for a couple reasons. The main reason the American Revolution started was because the colonist of the United States did not pay Great Britain after the Indian war. After the colonist rejected Great Britain 's Monarchy and Aristocracy that is what really made the war start because Great Britain did not think that was fair. The first battle started on the day April 19, 1775. “Great Britain thought they were going to come out with an easy victory over the colonist.
Although America chose to stay sovereign during Britain’s war with France, the British still kidnapped thousands of American sailors and forced them to work for the Royal Navy. Working for the Royal Navy was difficult work and some men died or were even killed during their service. Although impressment might’ve been practiced for centuries in Britain and they
So the question is, What was the Battle of Lexington and Concord and how did it help to start the Revolutionary War? The Battle of Lexington and Concord didn 't just start because someone said hey let 's go kill a bunch of Brits NO! The war started because of unfair treatment and unjust ways of collecting money that were not necessary to the government and that were not helping the colonies at all.
The “Great War” happened in 1914 and lasted until 1918. The war was triggered, because of the assassination of the archduke Franz Ferdinand, who was supposed to receive the throne. Documents 7 and 9 go hand in hand, because it shows the European Alliances. Documents 3,4,5, and 8 show the militarism cause of the war. Lastly, the Documents numbered 1,2, and 6 belong together due to the fact they show the Imperialist Competition.
The American Revolution was the start of the America’s history and one of the biggest turning points in that era. All the colonists remembered the daring fight against Britain for land and liberty. Yet, 29 years later another war broke out between Britain and America. The same arguments were in place as before, America was pushing for land and defending their liberties. In these ways the War of 1812 can easily be viewed as the second American Revolution.
The cause of most political dispute around 1820-1860 was mostly about slavery. There has been division between the North and the South, though compromise had usually sufficed in calming the controversy. However, nearing 1860, political compromise appeared useless. Comprises simply postponed addressing the issue, and led to even greater issues, compromise wasn’t working politically, socially, and economically for the nation.
The Civil War was a war fought from 1861 to 1865 to determine the survival of the Union or independence for the Confederacy. The Civil War was when America broke up and went to war with each other. More than 620,000 were killed and millions were injured. The main reason it started was because of slavery. Southern states seceded from the Union because they wanted slavery, they had different economics, and they didn't want any more compromises.
