A few days ago, Trump used the chance of his inaugural address to the Congress to reiterate some important promises. He mentioned that we wanted to defeat the problem of drugs in the country and echoed the previous verbal promises of presidents, such as Ronal Reagan and Richard Nixon. His anger remained directed at hard drugs, such as heroin and never once did he mention marijuana, to the delight of many Americans. Trump promised during his speech that he will do everything in his power to slow down the drug issue and stop it altogether as part of his “Make America Great Again” vows. However, he is looking to use the traditional tactics of increasing the war on drugs through prohibition and control.
Annexing Texas and declaring war caused more problems for Mexico and America. America should have left Texas to Mexico. It caused many security problems to Mexico and brought the issues of slaves. It also seems as if america was “asking” for a war. Mexico did indeed throw the first punch, but America was taunting them.
Fallacies in political speeches: Donald Trump announces he is running for president. Donald Trump’s one very distinct “ability” is making a vast amount of people react to what he says. Be it good or bad, this makes him gain more attention not only in the United States, but all over the world. At the end of the day, what really matters is if his statements have, in fact, any effect on people’s votes. So for those who are not yet sure about his sincerity, it only takes a not to deep analysis of his speeches to spot serious fallacies.
The thirteenth amendment in the Declaration of Independence ended slavery and the fourteenth Amendment ended slavery in essence. These legislations are set in place however racism is a reoccurring theme in America especially in recent months with President Trump in power. President Trump has a number of motions in place to prohibit individuals from certain races access into America. In situations similar to this it can be difficult for the state to ban racist advertisements when the president holds a huge amount of power. Trump has encouraged mainly his supporters to act out vocally and physically which is becoming increasingly concerning.
As a Baptist minister Huckabee personally opposes legalization but as a presidential candidate his is getting out in front of the issue. “I think we need to recognize, marijuana has never made anybody a better citizen,” Huckabee said. “Do we really think marijuana is something we want to encourage people to have greater access to? Does it make you a better worker? Does it make you a better mom or dad?”
Some accused him of wanting to turn Greeley into a sanctuary for illegal immigrants. Others called him “traitor scum” and derisively asked, “Have you thought about running for mayor of your favorite country, Mexico?” (“Swift Justice”). There were threats of a recall petition and demands that Selders withdraw his reelection bid (“Residents”).
I. Introduction Donald Trump: American Hero or Villain? For many Americans, Trump is seen as the long-awaited saviour of the nation. Others see him as the man to start World War III. In my paper, I will analyse Donald Trump’s political activities before and after the election to get an objective viewpoint of America’s President.
Trinisha Sullivan ELA 8B presidential essay 12/17/2015 Essay #2 Why shouldn 't Donald Trump be president? I believe that Donald Trump should not be president because, Trump has a degree in finance rather than Law, Trumps Ban against muslims and He thinks he can fix the world 's problems. Trump shouldn’t be president because he has a degree in finance rather than Law. I believe that to be president you should have to have multiple degrees like obama who has four law degrees. The president of the united states should be highly educated and if you 're not I don 't believe you qualified to be president Donald Trump also shouldn’t be president because of what he said about banning muslims.
Today, President Trump, like President Reagan, is interested in transferring government spending on Medicaid and giving block grants to the states to control their own Medicaid programs. Many people, even some Republicans, are worried that the states, without much government intervention will cut people from the services they are receiving currently. The politicians who are in disagreement with this proposal strongly favor a more centralized government and cling tight to the original meaning of
Trump is one of the candidates running for the Republican Party bid for President of the United States. He wrote a three-page statement explaining why he believes that “the worst elements of Mexico are being pushed into the United States by the Mexican government”. In this statement, he explains that many of the Mexicans that come to America are drug dealers, rapists, and other criminals. This is all coming from a man that is viewed by millions of people as a plausible candidate for President of the United States. There will come a time where people that supports Trump, because of his discriminatory view on race, will act on those beliefs violently and without discrimination.
Strategies used by Donald trump for his election campaign to talk about immigration. 1. INTRODUCTION: I hope my literature will help to understand the strategies which are used by politicians to address/ignore issues which are either owned by a party or is an issue of salience from the general public or is a not a clear-cut overlap. and lessen the effect of any election’s candidate campaign. In this review, I shall dwell into the different strategies Donald Trump uses to talk about issues like immigration.
Their speeches did not contain repetition but I feel as though Mr. Trump could’ve used it a lot more than Hilary Clinton. If Mr. Trump would’ve continued to talk about why he wants immigrants out of the country I feel as though I would’ve helped his point even more. Hilary Clinton uses repetition in her speech when she talks about Donald Trump’s relationship with other foreign countries. These speeches both use parallel structure but the one that uses it the best is Donald Trump. I believe this because it helped him get his points across and he made his objective a little clearer.
According to John O’ Sullivan, “Other nations have undertaken...hostile interference against us, …hampering our power, limiting our greatness and checking the fulfillment of our manifest destiny to overspread the continent allotted by Providence (God) for the free development of our yearly multiplying millions”. The Americans are using God’s will as an excuse to go to war with Mexico. The fact that other countries are also trying to taking territory from Mexico shows that the United States is willing to enter the competition for Mexico’s territory in order to gain more resources to support themselves and strengthen themselves by doing this. Manifest Destiny is nothing more than a concocted lie meant to persuade the masses the advantages of gaining more territory. To conclude, the US was truly not justified in going to war with Mexico because of the number of lies and excuses told to persuade the population that Mexico was the actual villain.
The details are left to you for settlement...” This explained how Germany supposedly wanted Mexico to declare a war on the U.S and when Germany “wins”, they will give all the land that the U.S took back to them. Which caused a lot of fury to the government, and this made the citizens angry. Also, it made them want to go to war with the central powers and join the allies, which is exactly what the government wanted. More than ever did they want and need support from the people. Woodrow Wilson made the speech, “Do Your Bit For America” addressing to the people to contribute to those on the battlefield defending the country for them, explaining the many that have fallen for their freedom, which touched a lot of souls.
