Investigating (Criterion A) In my personal project I chose to create a motivational video, which incorporated the use of logos, pathos, and ethos to influence and motivate my fellow peers to settle for more and not less. Growing up I have always been an individual that influenced those around me with ease. I was usually seen as the alpha or leader of the pack and the decisions and directions I took played a major role on them. I figured I could use this position in a positive way that can contribute towards the overall success of others. Fortunately, I’ve been taught the three major rhetorical appeals which increases your level of speech and process of getting a point across. This was extremely valuable to me because I am an individual that …show more content…
All of the different applications and components that were implemented can easily be observed and displayed in the project. My knowledge and understanding of my topic and global context have been drastically widened. The importance of giving every situation and obstacle in life your all, then placing that on a global scale is even more amazing. My knowledge of rhetorical appeal is greater than before and this will only benefit my communication skills, which goes a long way in our day an age. My self-management and brainstorming skills have been improved upon after this personal project. Being tasked to formulate our own project and proceed with its completion, along with coming up with our own original ideas to go along with it only impacted me in a positive way. Personally, I feel good about my choice of the topic. If I didn’t pick a topic I enjoyed it wouldn’t have been such a learning experience for me. However, I believe more research and ideas could have been applied for an even greater outcome. After completing this project I found a part of me wanting to go even further and pursue my goal at a grander scale. My willingness to impact and better the lives of others through communication. The two most vital Learner Profile qualities had to be thinker and open minded. I was a thinker tasked with brainstorming new ideas and innovations, then an open-minded individual by allowing myself to delve into a challenge I have never before faced. Overall, this project was my launching platform to new

Kathryn Stockett successfully uses rhetorical devices to get the reader to feel and understand the perspectives of the protagonists. Stockett uses pathos, ethos, and logos in her book, since the book about social injustice. The topics in the book range from inequality of the sexes to social classes and racism, Stockett is successful in getting the reader to reflect while reading the book and the themes of the book have a clear presence. We see Stockett use ethos and pathos in the very first chapters when we learn that Hilly doesn't like Minny and Minny doesn't want to say why at first, but the incident with Ms. Holbrook was affecting her chances of getting a job because of the influence Hilly has over this suburban society. In some instances where Stockett uses ethos, pathos is also included in her writing.
The video project was also a different twist on the way to reach an audience. It made us have to think in a different way to be able to get our point across. It was a good way to be able to look at it from a different perspective and challenge our previous thoughts on how to reach a purpose and audience. With this, I feel I was able to better to reach and audience and be able to state my purpose better, since the video was able to accomplish getting me to be able to approach a purpose in a different
College Q&A Tega Orhorhoro Summary We conducted a two hour interview with three well rounded Wayne state students to learn about their experience in college and how they take on everyday challenges as a college student. Two out of our three interviewers are from the APEX program and have taken part in the summer bridge. We interviewed an English major who was also one of our tutor for writing class. They talk about what is like to work on campus as a freshman and how much it really takes out of your life.
Past leaders such as Andrew Jackson, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Marc Antony are evidence that society does not reward morality and good character in leadership. Society is drawn to leaders that have good rhetoric, propaganda, and charismatic personalities, and society supports them despite their immorality. Society is concerned about stability more than the morality of their leaders and will support immoral leaders in times of crisis to provide stability. In history there have been multiple leaders that have used rhetoric, propaganda and charismatic personalities to gain power, despite their morals.
Throughout my project, I was able to experience everything a dentist goes through in daily life, whether it was planned or if it was an emergency. The hours, papers, and information put into my project has allowed me to be fully confident in becoming a dentist in the future. My senior project provided me with the opportunities to meet very important people in the dental community, that could help me in furthering my career in the future. Overall, my project was a complete success. I was able to help others in need by teaching what I had learned to younger people.
While I was skeptical about being able to finish the project, I still felt that I could develop a large majority of what I originally envisioned. During the development process, I learned
It allowed me to apply the knowledge and expertise I had acquired, boosting my confidence and sense of fulfilment as I saw my skills in action. Usually when we finish an automation, we would go back to the Client to ask for the time savings they have received since using the automation. I had never felt such a sense of pride and satisfaction for all our automations to boost their efficiency by 50 to 90%. Seeing the impact of my contributions and how my abilities were valued during the internship was truly motivating. Moreover, the chance to further develop my skills was invaluable, helping me expand my capabilities and grow as a person.
It made me look forward to something and having a set goal really gave me much influence. The process for me was hard at first, but became easier as I got used to it. I failed multiple times with trying to
It has empowered me to focus on my vision with determination, as evidenced by the fact that I am writing this essay in my house in Redding California, not Melbourne
One of the biggest impacts that became of me occurred at my interview with one of the bosses at Kiz Studios. When I emailed him he was skeptical at first however decided to give me a chance. I proceeded to the place and he showed me around. I stood in total awe, I never thought I would be standing in a position close as this. After were done checking the place he sat me down trying to figure out how much knowledge I grasped and asked to see my work.
The one-on--one interaction with the leader made me capable of coming up with ideas without feeling afraid or being
It changed me from a powerful student leader into a lost and frightened child. That one simple bullet point, that one requirement, diminished my enthusiasm for success. With every assignment given, I prayed that I wouldn't have to face my fear, yet again.
Through it I am able to take responsibility and control over my actions. Through it I am ready and excited to participate in new experiences. This value has been enforced by a professional role model that I have been in recent contact with; his name is Steve Gibson who is a computer science researcher working on many projects that are very close to my personal interests. I learned from him the power of freedom of choice and understanding the repercussions of my choices. Through him and his old age wisdom I was able to become a better student and software
It put a person on an everyday challenge to do better. I can see myself in my everyday work. I remember that at my work I always ask my supervisor more work to do. Now that we have a reduction in refugee arrivals, it is a challenge for the department because we don’t have that many things to do and I don’t like to sit not doing something.
