Speeches can hold a lot more power than weapons. There are over thousands of speeches that have been written by leaders and people striving to make a difference using their words. Three main people that stand out are Mark Antony, Martin Luther King, and Malala yousafzai. They are each people from different time periods and they have all used their words in empowerful ways. In the tragedy of Julius Caesar by Shakespere, words play a big role in the play and in ancient history and the real world today, which Mark Antony, Martin Luther King Jr and Malala Yousafzai are examples and it all shows the power that words can hold over weapons. Upon writing this speech he asked to read it at his funeral. But his plan was to use his way of words and gain the people's trust to turn them against Brutus. Mark Antony uses rhetorical devices in his speech to sorta trick but also persuade the people to believe Caesar was not all that bad. An example of Antony doing this is when he said “what cause withholds you then to mourn for him” In act 3 scene 2. He said that to ask why the people think they should be at his funeral and mourn for him when they were told he’s ambitious and believe he did more wrong than good. By using his words that way it was easier to gain the citizens' trust. Mark antony respect everyone's beliefs and lets them believe the bad points but he continues to remind them caesar did good as well. “ So let it be with caesar. The noble brutus has told you caesar was ambitious. If it were so, it is a grievous fault and grievously hath caesar answer it” Act 3 scene 2 page 950. Malala spoke up about the matter and her words are what led her to making a big difference. Malala didn’t just create one speech but several, that were all successful and able to get the world's attention. Malala Yousafzai's nobel peace prize acceptance speech was delivered on the 10th of dec 2014 held at the Oscle city hall. The main purpose of this speech for her was to use her words in hopes to have the right of education for children and mainly young women. Also to have people take action about inequality still. Malala values making a change in the inequality of children's education and also working hard to make a difference due to her past.
