Management includes planning, organizing, staffing, leading or directing, and controlling an organization to achieve the goal or the target.

It can be defined as a process of getting the work done by others with the aim of achieving goals effectively and efficiently .(able to do the work, in a proper way with minimum cost)

Managers play an integral part in an organization's growth and evolution. Organizational growth is a complex process, particularly in larger organizations
Managers must do more they must facilitate the evolutionary process. In these situations, organizations need a manager who can fulfill several roles, including leader, negotiator, figurehead, and communicator. In each of these roles, the manager's goal is to help employees through the change with the least possible number of conflicts and issues.
Leader
To effectively implement change, a manager needs to be a good leader. The manager must organize and plan the change and use leadership skills to inspire employees to embrace it. This is a complex and intangible skill, one which incorporates each of the roles listed below as well. Leadership is a broad term that incorporates communicating and inspiring those around you to embrace a perspective.
Change can alter the normal routine of the workplace hence creating chaos. Organizational change can aid in improving the image of the organization, promoting efficiency and improve on the competitiveness of the organization (Schein, 2004). The manager can function as a trainer by helping the members of the organization to learn how to utilize the data to be used to promote development. He or she can help the members of n organization to acquire a new set of skills to help solve future problems of the organization.

Leadership is doing the right thing. A leader has the final say, and sometimes it can be against the policy. A manager will do the planning, organizing, directing and controlling in an organization. CAN A MANAGER BECOME A GOOD LEADER SIGNIFICANCE OF THE CONCEPT It is important to distinguish an effective manager and a good leader, also to recognise the concept of being a good leader as well as an effective manager, managers aspiring to become a leader can benefit from acquiring leadership skills, a good leader possess several qualities that could easily be termed as good managerial skills. Hence a leader must be well developed physically, mentally and intellectually to be able to assume such positions. In this current challenging world is crucial for every manager to possess excellent management skills and develop exemplifying qualities of a good leader.

Contemporary management involves many aspects of management. These aspects include planning, leading, organising and controlling operations to achieve certain organisational goals. When comparing different management levels it is evident that at all levels emphasise the importance of using resources effective and responsibly. Managers should be able to build their own as well as their subordinates’ skills, regarding decision making, monitoring information and supervising personnel are which are essential to success. Managers have great responsibilities, these responsibilities include managing a diverse work force, maintaining a competitive edge, behaving ethically and using emerging technologies.
Leadership: Definition Leadership is the process of influencing the motive of the employees and so directing, guiding them to the proper completion of the short-term goals and the mission, vision of the firm. Leadership referring to achieve a specific set of goals of the business enterprise by minimizing risk and more advantage of opportunities is also called Entrepreneurial Leadership (Rao, 2015). Today leadership is such an iterative process when the leaders should have a variety of qualities and expertise in different area of management. Here, different theories will be explained which can clearly identify the scope, the responsibilities and the area of expertise required to be successful leader.
‘Organizations provide its managers with legitimate authority to lead, but there is no assurance that they will be able to lead effectively’ (Lunenburg, 2011). Organizational success usually requires a combination of both management and leadership. In today’s dynamic work environment, leaders are expected to challenge the present state of affairs, and to motivate and convince organization members. Managers are needed to assist in creating and maintaining a positive and well-functioning workplace. ‘Leadership and management are often considered practically overlapping concepts’ (Bohoris and Vorria, 2007, p. 1).
This essay is a reflection of my personal leadership development blueprint this quarter. The paper identifies three main attributes that have made me to become a change leader this quarter. The essay concludes by highlighting some core values that have successfully made this change possible. An effective leader is defined as encouraging people to take risks - to evaluate their core beliefs and worldview - and engage effectively with others (Flanagan, 2014).
