The life of Richard Rameriz was unusual and strange. A serial killer that had no real purpose to kill, just the thrill. Richard was the youngest of 5 siblings to immigrants from Mexico. Him and all of his siblings had different birth defects ranging from bone deformations or respiratory problems. At the age of 2 Richard had a dresser fall on his head causing a laceration. At 5, he was hit by a swing which knocked him unconscious after this he began having epileptic seizures. Growing up, his father physically abused him. At age 12 his cousin who was a Vietnam War Verten showed him very disturbing photos of a woman who had been killed, raped, and tortued. Soon after he left and moved to California where he began breaking and entering, he had a growing cocaine addiction. He was arrested twice in LA for auto theft. On June 28, 1984, he killed his first known victim 79 year old Jennie Vincow. He sexually assaulted her, stabbed and stole things from inside her home. Rameriez waited about 8-9 months to start killing again; he attacked Maria Hernadez on March 17, 1985, she escaped but he then killed her roommate Dayle Okanaki. That same night he shot and killed Tsai-Lian. He was then given the name of “Valley-Intruder” by the press. On March 27 he killed Vincent Zazzara and his wife. But this then became the pattern for him. Shooting the husband first then assaulting and stabbing the woman to death. He would always have a breathing period where for months he could not kill anybody but in May of 1985 his murder rate was speeding up at quite a fast rate. A dozen people 's houses were burglarized, assaulted, and intense violence with satanic rituals. The police began working with the FBI in trying to figure out who was killing/attacking all these innocent people. A surviving victim, forced Rameriz to move out of Los Angeles and move to San Francisco, where he killed 2 more people. It has been confirmed that 13 people were killed. But many believe that there were more people that he …show more content…
When on the bus back there were cops everywhere looking for the killer. A group of hispanic women identified him from an ad in a newspaper. After fleeing the supermarket he was attracted to carjacking a Ford Mustang, but he was pulled out by angry residents. The police were called after a fight broke out. He was taken into police custody that day. July 22, 1988 he had his first court appearance, this is when he raised his hand rolling a pentagram and yelling “hail satan.” On September 20, 1989 he was charged with 43 charges. Ramirez was born in El Paso, Texas on February 28th, 1960. He lived to be 53, dying on June 7th, 2013. Richard Ramirez was the youngest of seven children of a Catholic family. The bad influences came into Ramirez’s life when his older cousin, Mike, returned from fighting in the Vietnam War.
Insanity Richard Ramirez, known as the night stalker, was a serial killer in Los Angeles. I think that Richard Ramirez suffered from insanity. Insanity is when one is seriously mental ill. Richard Ramirez spent a lot of his childhood with a family cousin Michael. Michael was a Vietnam green beret that told Richard of how he found pleasure in raping and murdering Vietnamese women while deployed.
The first time, he shot two women, Donna Lauria and Jody Valenti. It resulted in Donna’s death. Three months after his first killing, David Berkowitz shot at a couple sitting in a parked car. In that same year in November, David attacked two teenage girls who were on their way home. He severely injured one of the girls leaving her paralyzed from the spine down.
Throughout the trials leading up to his death sentence, Ramirez threw every satanic insult, curse of some sort, or confession he could think of at the courtroom members except for his cult of course. In prison, Ramirez got married and had many admirers visiting him every chance they got. He was basically a superstar for them. On June 7th, 2013 Richard Ramirez died of lymphoma in the hospital waiting on the state of California’s death sentence. So many other people were waiting in prison before him that he waited twenty-four years before dying and still waiting on his death
These feelings never left him as he is said to have killed over 100 people for his job as a hitman. His killings began as a kid when he would brutally torture dogs and cats. This torture gave him a feeling of “empowerment”, and the feelings eventually led to his first kill as a teenager. His first murder was the killing of a local bully.
The 79-year-old victim was sexually assaulted, stabbed and murdered in her own home. In just one year Ramirez had murdered over a dozen people and tortured of 25 people. After many delays, in 1989, Richard Ramirez, age 29, was sentenced to the conviction of 13 murders, five attempted murders, 11 sexual assaults and 14 burglaries. Ramirez was sentenced to die in California’s gas chamber. His remarks to this were “Big deal.

When he was twenty, he shot a man and was facing up to thirty-five years in prison, but luckily the ma survived, so Richard was only given a five year sentence. Richard Ramirez was a notorious serial killer who devastated California as the “Night Stalker” in 1984. His childhood was filled with several unfortunate events including abuse, traumatic accidents, and his family’s struggle to remain financially stable. During his adolescent years, Ramirez began to fall under horrible influences that encouraged him to try different drugs and commit petty crimes. In 2013, the infamous Night Stalker passed away in his cell on death row at the age of 53. Though he has passed, the pain and horror Ramirez instilled in many still haunts them to this day.
This attack was one of his more brutal attacks. He attacked the couple in the middle of the night and shot the husband however the wife was able to escape and grab a gun. Unforntaly the gun was not loaded and he shot her and stabbed her. After she was dead he gouged her eyes out and left them in the jewelry box. Bill and Lilie Doi were attacked in May 1985.
Children like Richard Ramirez (The Night Stalker) “who are abused or neglected are at an increased risk for experiencing future violence victimization and perpetration, substance abuse, sexually transmitted infections, delayed brain development, lower educational attainment, and limited employment opportunities” (CDC, 2021). When Richard Ramirez was approximately 10 years old, his father abused him and his family. As a result, he developed a sadistic glorification that satisfied him sexually, culminating in his murdering of thirteen people from 1984 to 1985. Researchers suggest that a link can be established between childhood abuse and sexual gratification in serial killers (Carolina, 2018). Brought into the world on February 29, 1960, in

Dubbed the Valley Intruder or Night Stalker, Ricardo Leyva Munoz Ramirez famously known as Richard Ramirez, struck fear through the bones of many during his serial killing spree in the mid-eighties. Ramirez killed at least fourteen people in his spree while raping and torturing many more. His criminal beginnings turned to violence in June of 1984 with his first known slaying of 79-year-old Jennie Vincow. Vincow was sexually assaulted, stabbed and ultimately killed in her home. Authorities had not yet caught Ramirez after this brutal homicide, therefore he was free to continue his spree on countless more helpless victims.
Summary of Case The events do not seem to have been planned in any sort of way or fashion but seem to be happening at the desire of the criminal during short periods of time and in high volume (latimes.com, 1989). Ramirez’s killings occurred in such a short period of time and with enough distance between them to prevent the authorities to capture him but still to relate him to the cases and to identify him to prevent general population of him. Most of the victims’ households property was stolen by Ramirez during and/or after the attacks. These robberies included items of great value that could not be tracked such as jewelry or clothes (latimes.com, 1989).
