Richard Ramirez was a notorious serial killer who devastated California as the “Night Stalker” in 1984. His childhood was filled with several unfortunate events including abuse, traumatic accidents, and his family’s struggle to remain financially stable. During his adolescent years, Ramirez began to fall under horrible influences that encouraged him to try different drugs and commit petty crimes. In 2013, the infamous Night Stalker passed away in his cell on death row at the age of 53. Though he has passed, the pain and horror Ramirez instilled in many still haunts them to this day. He made his way to a car he had previously stolen and went on his way. Ramirez approached a stop sign to which a LAPD officer slowly made his stop to the right of Ramirez. After almost twenty-four years on death row, the Night Stalker died of complications with blood cancer. “Ramirez died on June 7 at 9:10 a.m. while receiving treatment at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, Calif. The Marin County coroner’s office said Ramirez, one of the nation’s most infamous serial killers, died of complications related to B-cell lymphoma. In addition, at the time of his death Ramirez had other significant conditions, including ‘chronic substance abuse and chronic hepatitis C viral infection.’”
