He has bravery, for fighting many battles with the snakes such as Nag, Nagaina, and Karait. He shows awareness for knowing where Nag is and knows not to go to the wrong place at the wrong time. He also shows that he is fast with fast reaction times and running speeds as Nagaina was sneaking up behind him to kill him and as he got a warning from the bird, he wasted no time and jumped up into the air to save his life. Most mongoose don’t have as many impressive characteristics to do things like fight snakes and know exactly where they are so they don’t get killed by them by approaching them at the wrong place at wrong time, or having extremely fast reaction times to jump up in the air as something is sneaking behind him to save their lives. My favorite character from unit one was Rikki-Tikki, from Rudyard Kipling’s Rikki Tikki Tavi. I liked Rikki-Tikki because he was brave, selfless, and also caring. These are all important traits. Kipling developed Rikki’s traits early in the story. At first, he seemed helpless, especially when he was saved by Teddy and his family.
